@@kikaho_ Thank you so much but I'm far from that. I am teaching myself since having a teacher's too expensive and not possible right now with the pandemic. Currently, I'm practicing Bob Marley's _Three Little Birds_ to practice easy chords but I don't know what to do after that. Should I learn scales next? Keys? More songs? What are the 1st important things I should learn on the guitar? I love my guitar but I want to know everything about it so that I can love it more.
- I'd say technique is more important for beginner. So get familiar with all the basic technique, such as: alternative picking, palm muting, hammer-on, pull-off, bending, tapping, natural harmonic, pinch harmonic. Then get as good at them as you can.
- Avoid practice by playing a full song, find some short phrases (or a short part of a song) that contains the technique that you want to focus and keep practice on that instead, it's way more efficient that way.
- Learn to practice with a metronome, it's can be boring but it's the key to rapid improvement.
- Keep pushing yourself to play something harder.
- Scales, keys, music theory, etc are something to study after you're more familiar with your instrument so you'll have a better idea of how to apply those theory on it.

@@kikaho_ This is by far the best advice I was given! Everywhere else, I was told to just learn songs and get better at chord changes, which is not bad but I wanted to truly feel like I was playing Yuki (yh I named my guitar haha). All the songs that I wanted to learn included a variety of techniques, which I knew roughly but wasn't any good so I avoided learning them. I thought I had to learn techniques later but actually I was delaying these good skills.

I recommend practice with a metronome and start from a very slow speed (way slower than the current speed that you can play), and slowly increase the speed as you perfect your playing in lower speed. I find this method extremely effective. Hope you can play them one day ❤
