- This Nintendo Switch tested my patience to the limit. I nearly gave up on it 2 times. I thought it was going to be simple, a nice little chip install, but no it was sent to test me. I hope you enjoy watching my pain, even the Switch itself decided to troll me. Kindly sent in by Tom along with the GameBoy Color that I did in another video.

Remember that this is just for entertainment and I am not an expert in these repairs. The processes in the video may not be the best way, the correct way or the safest way to fix these things. I do love fault finding and trying to fix broken things, so I hope that comes across in this 'Trying to FIX' series. Many thanks, Vince.
Spoiler Saver and 2 interesting completely useless facts
One single teaspoon of honey represents the life work of 12 bees.
It’s impossible for you to lick your own elbow (I guarantee you will immediately try that)
the bee is an interesting creation of all creations (including humans) from ALLAH you could search for it in the Quran if you want
How did you know 😳
thank you for the spoiler saver, youtube’s layout ruins it
Great video, Vince! Glad you resistor-ed the temptation to give up on this one! 😅
😂 Cheers Steve, glad to see PunStixFix back in action!
"stupid resistors!" 🤣
I’m waiting for Steve to say “solid” any time I see someone checking connections after switching a charge port and checking connections. Bit disappointed that Vince didn’t, but seeing Steve’s comment made up for it.
“ic” Steve’s doing the “circuit” doing his jokes, he’s lost “track” in life, I’m surprised he has the “capacity” to resist any longer 😊
stupid tiny resisstor thing
What an absolute JOURNEY mate. Well done! ❤❤
Thank you Joey! 👍👍
I don't care what anyone says. Vince is absolutely an amazing technician. To all those people who call him "switch killer" I'd love to have seen them troubleshoot this.
Fantastic job!!! That was really resisting repair! Love the reaction on success lol
😂 It certainly was, did everything it could to NOT be repaired !!!!!!!!
great entertaining vid vince as always ;-) i have loved your reaction too nice to see that all your work payed off in the end and now im looking forward to your next rolls royce vid :D greetings from zurich switzerland 😀@@Mymatevince
That's what I love about your videos, you never give up, pleas never give up, it is the best, to see you struggling and finally getting that genuine YES that we all wait for
I love, love, love your enthusiasm when you fix it. Amazing stuff, and a joy to watch. Thanks for the entertainment!
What a great video Vince. A pure pleasure. Lower the air speed Vince. I work with 15% air flow
We're learning more and more about how the Switch behaves.
- What the circuit board physically needs to even turn on
- The Initial pathways branching from the USB connector
- The video chip with relation to the USB connection
- And now, the pathway from the USB power to the fuse to the resistor array to the main controller chip.
All of this that took hours, days, to diagnose and rectify, all summed up in one video.
My mate Vince. You still are able to amaze me. I probably would have thrown the towel long time. Great work!
I can tell you've had enough of these, you're normally excited when the problem turns out not to be an easy one. Great vid.
Message from the Nintendo switch - "i'll get you next time" Frigging Genius. Really enjoyed watching all that...
I think the weird reading you were getting on the last resistor was due to the small voltage that the meter puts out, when reading ohms, might have been switching the "mosfet" on and off creating that fluctuating ohm reading. Just my guess anyway thank you for another wonderful video
Nice one bud! Really enjoyable video, glad you stuck with it. With that weird multimeter jumping around thing, if you take it off Auto Range I think by pressing the Range button would stop that happening and give you a reading
Great fix, captivated for 45mins! Love your channel, Vince :)
Wow, what a rollercoaster that was. Your vids are certainly hard to resist.
Great work 👏
This episode was brilliant, too many ups and downs to country but you still figurer it out at the end, a proper my mate Vincent video!❤
But don't forget to add the timelapses with classical music from time to time, i'm 32 and really loves those moments aswell, thank you for your videos ❤❤❤
Well done sir! You are not the Switch killer anymore!
I have watch a few dozen of your videos but this one is my favourite so far. What entertainment nice one
Congratulations on fixing the switch.
The switch killer has redeemed himself.
What a great fix! Long video but you didn't give up! Glad you got it fixed!
Nice fix, Vince :)
You can heat the board from under M92 if you are afraid of knocking over some components. And i use a lot of flux to keep it there until the board heats up. That goes for the USBC port, too.
Charging issues can also be solved by replacing the BQ chip.
Very well done Vince 🎉, Considering I had issues seating the M92 chip, there was no way I would have fixed this.
Also, thank you for the lessons in your videos, I really appreciate you explaining why things may not have worked when I tried 👍
I may dabble in microaoldering in the future, now that i see where i went wrong 😁
well done i admire you for not giving up on that nintendo switch great video
That was a hard-won victory, Vince - cheers at your dogged persistence, it always serves you well :)
The other things on the board would probably have given you issues (the filter, the crappy-looking USB C port) but you addressed them before the charging issue. But just the same, great work!
Amazing result! Love the process and the roller coaster of emotions we went through with you!
Yay. Your perseverance paid off.
Great video dude! Well done
Great job Vince. Proves having a spare around is not a bad idea. Those tiny resistors don't show any signs of physical damage painted black like that. The old through hole types were much easier to spot the damage from overheating, with the manufacturers having mostly used lighter shades of colour. Imo just using the colour black for smd resistors is a poor choice. Probably would be better if they were painted white with black values written on them.
you can feel the sweet taste of victory when it finally works ...
And the Switch-killer lives to see another day!
This was great to watch. Thank you. Could not have done this myself. I don't know anything about boards but, I know what you did to fix this Switch.
What a brilliant find vince! That dedication you had to fix this switch! I shall name you the switch reviver 😂
"Ooohyeaaaah. On a blue mat. Gonna wick it all awaaayaaaaah...." Eddie Leadder
Another Epic episode what with you and @StezStixFix, are you both in competition this week to see who's fix is the hardest? 😅 great job x 👏 👍
Congratulations 🎉 what a well deserved victory 😊👍🏻💐
Good job, Vince!
You've changed from the Switch Killer to the Switch Savior!
I guessed seven fly-aways, it was indeed not enough 😄
You definitely are skilled enough with soldering to be hired as a technician for electronic engineers 😮
Nice video and amazing fix. Your determination is unrivalled 😅
great job Vince
Well done one happy fixer 👍
your Sunday prays are answered praise the techgods 5 stars vince
Now that's dedication...
Well done Vince.
Awesome repair :) I would love to be able to fix stuff like this but I cant
well, even this video provides totally know how - I fell the lack of experience ...but it give me the clue- how to reuse "useless" boards 😊
Ill training on them,
😅 in case that any of them will work again- then the Frankenstein proces will be reported
thanks
Excellent work Vince. 👏
Well done m8 you have the patients of a saint and very entertaining vids
Well done. Others that you have helped as well
Vince mate, tell your mrs to keep the noise down in the kitchen please ?
Sounds like she is smashing up the dishwasher !
Can you please do trying to fix a faulty fisher price ocean wonders aquarium from 2002?
The Switch Killer Redemption👍
Such a great teacher. I fuck up many boards reading/watchin but you have helped me in logical thought... i still learn from you. but i know your shit hahaha
have you got a zoom remote control thingy for your camera? would save getting up and down to zoom in each time, (do they even exist?)
More Flux mate. Flux IS your friend on bridges and in soldering in general. You could Have tested for bridges on The bottom pins with The breakout board.
Hi!
Like your videos. But i must ask, Where do you get the leaded solder from?
I have been trying aliexpress, Ebay, Temu etc, but all of them acts just like non-lead solder..
Coder did a video on an oled switch and no Dock was a filter
What a great job well done !
Interesting watch as always!
Nice one!!!
Just finished GG max effort
🎉🎉🎉👍👍👍I like so much when do you say yessss😆
I can send you my non docking Switch if you fancy a different challenge hehe Works perfectly just nothing comes out the hdmi side and its a new dock too, very likely one of the filters so not exactly difficult just kinda got my head into a Seiko 6119 from 1971 taking up my time lol
Well done Vince, kudos to you Sir.
Having no thermal compound on that rear shield is no big deal, my V1 does not even have the shield as it has to be removed to fit the mod chip board in, the switch does not have temperature issue's
Brill video, many baited breath moments :)
The usb tester. The white leads go to the power and the ports go to the switch.
Excellent ❤
Yo
When is Next part of RR coming out
Editing up part 50 right now👍👍👍👍👍

This. Nintendo switch. Was. Sent. To. Test. Me. !!!
I just noticed you never made a Switch OLED isn't it?
Can you put a link to the flux you are using?
Vince, what happens with these repairs ?
Are they sent back to their owners and do you charge them for the repair ?
I changed a touchscreen from a friends switch and the new touchscreen doesnt work in the middle. Does anybody maybe know if this is likely the new touchscreen being faulty?
Anybody has had tbis problem? I feel bad because I want to fix this switch.
Hi Vince, How do you decide what temperature and air speed to use for various components.
Anybody have a line on that usb c testing board? Dealing with a ps5 dualsense controller usb port replacement and i think that may help a ton!(i am aware that dualsense ports are almost proprietary and have a host of different issues, but i'm trying to get to the bottom of it)
Just out of interest are you ever gonna try to fix a switch oled?
It looks like it was cooked by a heat gun.
The problems on this board are switching ones.
😂
Let's say I wanted to be a part of the video series, but I'm from the United States.
How do I go about the process of sending you an item so that you may attempt to repair it?😅
It's amazing how far you've come with your repairs. I remember tuning into you when you were first starting out and to think of what you can now do. It's very impressive.
and he used a cookie tin to layout the pieces he was working on :)
Great fix, really goes to show how far you've come. You are now a switch repair expert 😎
Vince the problem with the fan was actually a bad Bearing
Switch killer he says... Please... more like Switch whisperer.
Hahaha, thank you Nandi, appreciate that 👍👍
Well done Vince!
Thank you Shawn!
Great to see these vids, glad you found what was wrong!
Can we please get a link (and/or it's name) to that USB-C port plug-in port tester thing you showed being used to test each pin @19:08? Thank you!
Fantastic fault-finding, Vince - your perseverance is exemplary. All of that from that one tiny resistor, though? "It is a strange fate that we should suffer so much fear and doubt over so small a thing. Such a little thing."
Allah is the greatest he's the king no son no companion whatsoever, to be sincere i can worship that son u talkin about if u gave me the specific verse from the Bible, Jesus is just a messenger pbuh, Allah is the most greatest with his glorious praise him
And Vince proofs once again that he has overcome the dark, cold days as the "Switch Killer"
Great Job Vince 👍 Persistence paid off. Funny how it's usually just 1 tiny component that stops it from working. I just had the same with a SSD I just repaired.
Vince just a couple of tips for you. when soldiering IC use more flux, then the chip will pull into place. Secondly when cleaning the circuit board do not quench it with IPA the rapid change in temperature can cause ceramic capacitors and other components like IC to microfracture, always allow the circuit board to cool down first. I see many UA-camrs do this and it's not the correct way.🙂
What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.
Repairing Nintendo switches are more like.
...The Power of Christ compels you! (Re the exorcist)
Great video mate👍🙂🇬🇧
Hahaha, I love that saying! 😂 I used it in one of my Rolls-Royce videos
that was really fun to watch your absolute unbridled excitement... that feeling is what keeps me interested in fixing stuff..... the joy...
Thanks Vince, love your work :)
"I'm gonna have to come back to this tomorrow." Famous last words wherein 5 minutes you go right back to it cause it shouldn't be this damn hard to figure out 😂.
