I loooove old graphic design books too. There was a period of true freedom in it, and sometimes you can find layouts that just break all the rules in the best ways! If you really want to get the lip piercing , make sure that you get it in a spot that will hide or disguise the hole. Right along the vermillion border or tucked slightly under where the bottom lip protrudes from the chin area is good. It can get gnarly during the healing phase, especially since the mouth is so dirty (we can't help it). ALSO please educate yourself on the facial nerves in the area that could be effected, and always go to a certified piercing salon. Self-modification is cool, just educate yourself and stay safe :)
