I just found your channel for the first time the other day. I can say with 100% full honesty this is one of my top favorite channels. It’s nice having videos that I can relate to. Thanks man and keep up the good work!
Yes, sir! It is quite a rush when a deer hunt turns into a different hunt! That sort of scenario happened to me in 2024, so I share in Chris' excitement!
Fantastic hunt! Really cool to see you mentoring that young man. And what a rare opportunity for him to harvest his first bear like that. Great stuff. Keep them coming!
Another great vid for the average guy on a budget! Well done technically and content wise…the anticipation and suspense are the same as a high priced Elk or Dall sheep hunt. Can’t wait for the next one.
Heat is definitely killer, our general A zone here in Cali opens in August and temps can get up to the 100+. We have had some really tough packouts in 100 degree temps.
Shot my first deer in 1965 in what I think was then called the "coastal" season near Fraiser Park. It was 107 degrees F that day! Thankfully, we got the hell out of CA less than two years later. The couple of things I would miss, Quail hunting mostly, and riding trail scooters across open desert and foothill trails, would be nigh impossible now in the areas that I knew then!
You heard me talking to my son around 7:30 am. He shot a deer and I headed out to help him. Then after you shot the bear we could hear you talking behind my cabin. I think you could here us. I think we headed to town around 12:00 or 1. Your shot was 15 minutes before we left. I hiked down and across the creek and headed up the hill and found the carcus. We have a bunch of pics of that bear and a chocolate bear. Playing together ,laying together, the bears chewed up my game cams. One card was readable.
The big boys will bed by themselves 3/4s of the way up south facing slopes. You wanna stay up top and gradually look down over the edges. Don’t side hill. You’ll never see them and when you do jump them, it’ll be on the run down to the bottom and out.
NIce Bear!!! I know u didnt want blood on ur backpacks but I would think the meats not cooling very well if u dont take it outta the bag for a few hours or more? Hope the quality Was still good I really like to cool my bears as fast as possible.. the FAT looked amazing You killing me with the McDonald hamburger LOL but everyone to there own... CONGRATS ON THE DEER for family!!! Love how u guys split it up and share Those memories are priceless Happy New Year to ur family!!!
That’s what hunting is about. Getting together and enjoying family and friends. Share everything you get with everyone.
That was a really nice buck that slipped away, he had kickers and looked wide. Great hunt boys!

It's the "HEY" that got me laughing hard. That's usually how I get most of my game to stop.
It's the deadliest word out there... 😁
That’s the best way to stop rutting bucks where I live 🤣
Fantastic hunt! Really cool to see you mentoring that young man. And what a rare opportunity for him to harvest his first bear like that. Great stuff. Keep them coming!

Aye, real hunters aren't much impressed by "hunts" where the outfitter and guides do all the real work except the shooting!
Congrats well deserved.
Family traditions. God's creation. Excellent memories!
When you said you would stop him i wasn't sure what i was expecting you to do to stop him... But it was not yell "Hey" 😂😂😂

Bear vitals are farther back than a deer. More mid body. Thats why it ran so far. Great video as always !

Woo Hoo!!! 🐻 down!!! Congratulations Chris!🎉🎉🎉
Thanks for sharing! It was a good watch as I’m sitting in the blind with about 48.5 hrs left in the season.
Hey! I'm using that on my next hunt.
We saw a bunch of people over there sunday. It was super warm sunday afternoon. Sunday afternoon we drove past your camp and it was empty.
Did you see the red roof. It's my place
In my experience, in western Oregon, when it's really dry out the deer hold tight. My theory is they don't like to make noise either.
That was a great quick shot lols 👍🏼👍🏼
Great video
Watching from Spokane Washington. Great UA-cam video.
That..Hay…!! Is a killer
cheese burger from mc Donalds! aha
You got some strong legs brother. I've pull a hamstring lol

Let's get it
I have to assume the lack of blood is from a lack of a exit wound.
Great vid mate what type of browning rifle is that mate
Sorry just seen it pop up 😂
