  • In this video we will balance the equation KOH + CO2 = KHCO3 and provide the correct coefficients for each compound.
To balance KOH + CO2 = KHCO3 you will need to be sure to count all of atoms on each side of the chemical equation.
Once you know how many of each type of atom you can only change the coefficients (the numbers in front of atoms or compounds) to balance the equation for Potassium hydroxide + Carbon dioxide .
Important tips for balancing chemical equations:
Only change the numbers in front of compounds (the coefficients).
Never change the numbers after atoms (the subscripts).
The number of each atom on both sides of the equation must be the same for the equation to be balanced.

2koh+CO2=k2co3+h2o is this correct or koh+CO2=khco3. I wrote the second formula

2KOH + CO₂ ----------→ K₂CO₃ + H₂O is this correct too?

Yes, it you have an excess of KOH. See:

It's a reaction between acid and base so we just have to make a salt of K so it can be K2CO3 but we can also take the example of h2co3 and naoh we get na2co3 Or nahco3 simple

    2kOH +CO2=k20+CO2+H20
    Is it correct
