I've been floating slabs for over 30 years without any real formal training and I have to say... It's nice to know I haven't been doing it completely wrong. Only ever used combo blades, but definitely learned from this video. Thanks so much
I’ve looked at quite a few vids on using a trowel machine. No one else has explained it as well as you. Thanks. The repetition of key points such as pitch of blades speed of trowel etc enables it to sink into my thick bones. Seems you’re one of those guys who genuinely wants the viewer to understand It’s a delight to come across (and subscribe to) your channel !
I know you help a ton of men (mainly) out there in your industry. Its all good. The technical details are where you separate the men from the boys. Keep on Erik.
Thank you for all the great tips and very detailed video. I just completed my own 1100 square feet garage slab and I'm very satisfied with the result - you are the best!
Hey man ! I been around concrete in the 90s and now I got a job doing concrete again. You made that look really good ! Very informative. Thank you sir ! Salute
You got my like without asking - pored many of slabs down in Kingsville during the summer... the heat with suck it out of you, and the crete, before you know it. Looks good sir... like your work.
Why in hell are there 5 humans that have hit the thumbs down on this video 🤯! Eric and Co. just know that us faithful lurkers and followers appreciate your time, energy, and effort in producing these videos. As a hopeful barndo owner (one day) I have learned and can see local builders in GA make mistakes you tell us to watch out for. Side note: if you wanted to design an etched tile like design on your concrete to have a “wood floor” look would this be possible and at what stage would you do this?
Good work on the video just watching to refamiliarize myself always good when you haven’t done a specific job like this in a long time changed trades now I’m finishing again thank you for this video
Oh my god!!! I thought it would be just another video. However, you impressed me so much by explaining the difference between blades!! Thank you so much!!!!
BROTHER ,GOD GAVE YOU A GIFT AND U WENT WITH IT, GOD BLESS U AND YOUR COMPANY ,FAMILY AND FRIEND'S. BEEN WATCHING U ON SHOOTING BECAUSE I'VE BEEN HUNTING HERE IN TEXAS SINCE 1994 MOVING HERE FROM CANADA!! GOD BLESS!!
I’ve been finishing for 10 years , also use a Power trowel everyday of my life lol I’ll be honest … this man is right on point with everything . Especially about the part the concrete will not wait for you for anyone….. she’s a mean mean lady if you don’t hit it right lol . Great video
I work on rider and walk behind trowels As a mechanic but I never use them so this is a great insight on the other side of the business, great showman… keep on rocking….
Looked at a lot of other videos, my company finally let me use one of these machines Becuase I got to stick around for the whole finish for once instead of doing setups and pours, anyways I thought it was fun, this was the best video I’ve seen
Over 100 degrees pouring concrete that's hot. I get to enjoy pouring about 95 and as cold as 20's outdoors. I like the nice 70's if I could pick one. Nice job, there looks great.
Emphasis on cutting/ filling to the right and finishing to the left! Always finish to the left! Also if you have a hole, position the hole on the rear left side of the blades and push down on the machine and it will help you fill holes. Oh put the edge to your left and it helps to pan your edges going backwards wile you lift up on the machines handle bars and it fills all the holes and makes for a flatter edge. Your edge man will thank you for that!
Eric, I watch your shooting challenge videos and have done for sometime, I just started looking at concrete videos and you’ve popped up again. Great job mate, all the way from Australia 👍👍👍
I love working with concrete love love and i really love learning anything any little detail I've had some questions i always use to ask one of my ex coworkers but they seem to hate me asking you really answerd my question god bless you 🙏 and thank you keep up the great work and god bless you 💖
Excellent! Well explained and held my attention. I learnt a lot. Accounting for environmental differences is a challenge. I live in Ireland where even in the summer it rarely exceeds 70 Fahrenheit. So long day waiting for drying and finishing.
Thank you for ppstjng. Thank you for detailed explanation of the machines. The science behind concrete I guess it gets pretty deep. Looks great. Like you said the concrete plant is a bit of a distance away. Stay cool. Nice to see the crew getting it done on a tricky batch of concrete that was delivered to you.
You all prolly dont care but does anyone know a tool to get back into an instagram account..? I was stupid lost my account password. I love any help you can offer me!
@Eric Marcelo Thanks for your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm trying it out now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Excellent video on using a power trowel. Even though I have use one many times previously, I still learned many tips. Thank you very much for an awesome video!
Nice work my fellow cement mason always wanted to do a demo on how to operate a machine for my apprentices. You make it look eazy and it is if you have the (experience ) hear in central California it get really hot also and by the end of a hot hot day you’re more than ready for a cold one🍺. I find that all cement mason journeymen are the same no matter wear they are from like a brotherhood. Concrete will chew you up and spit you out if your not in control of it. Keep on keeping on👍🏽💪🏽✌️
If ever possible - I teach concrete at TSTC in Waco - if you ever have a project near Waco I would love to bring my students out to have you walk them through a project if you are ever open!
Up north you cant put water then broom it in. We gotta lay it down tight then broom it with the green broon once it airs out a minute if we want a tigjt broom.
I always clean my blades that way I don't bring fresh concrete to the area where's it's almost dry and and pitch blades up full throttle on the last pass with water sprinkles to shine up the slab
Enjoy hearing all these explanations, thank you. I have an old 2-stall horse barn that was set on railroad ties back in the 1930's. Those have mostly rotted and I was thinking about putting concrete in their place, any recommendations on making an in-place beam/footer for a small building? By in-place I mean digging those rotted ties out (wall supported by interior bracing) and then pouring a beam for the side wall posts to sit on.
Great video. Newbie here. I was planning a 32x30' concrete slab for a detached car garage. cold weather 6,000' elevation. The slab will have a slop to the doors. Do they use a finishing machine on theses or just float them? thanks

My 6 year old is LOVING your video! Thank you!
I know you help a ton of men (mainly) out there in your industry. Its all good. The technical details are where you separate the men from the boys. Keep on Erik.
This is not just a skill, It’s an art!
I see these all the time and never had an idea what they really did. You explained it and then some. Really nice video sir.
Thank you for all the great tips and very detailed video. I just completed my own 1100 square feet garage slab and I'm very satisfied with the result - you are the best!

That’s called stamped concrete. You do that while pouring the concrete.
Hire a stamp concrete contractor.
Thank you for taking that extra time teaching us much appreciated.

Merci 👌 depuis la Belgique ❤
Id like to see how you guy screed and level when pouring, what do you use? lazer?
Great video very informative ! But I thought you said not to throw water on the concrete, because it’s bad for it?
Thanks
We use poly blades to polish our floors for schools and such
have you ever returned the next day to find critter tracks in your work?
No
Thanks v helpful
Hey! I made that trowel. I hope you love it.
I always clean my blades that way I don't bring fresh concrete to the area where's it's almost dry and and pitch blades up full throttle on the last pass with water sprinkles to shine up the slab
Good stuff

Nice video! I'm wondering what kind of knee pads your guys wear? Are they made to be on top of concrete to trowel finish hard surfaces?
Shared your bideo with a guy who thought in was too expensive. He has a “finisher” without a screed or trowel .
Enjoy hearing all these explanations, thank you.

It would work.
Do one for the folks, show them how to do a swirl finish with a trowel machine. I`ve had to do parking garages that way.
Great video!!

Erik. Great project! Hard working cure. Don’t forget to drink water. Thank you for sharing..👍🏽
