I think most ppl misinterpret what he is saying. When he is saying a useless class is emerging, that is his prediction, not his desire.
He is saying that humans will not be able to keep up with rate and intensity of change. Many jobs, policies (democracy) and institutions might become obsolete because of this new data and AI era. Again that is his prediction not his will.
We should listen to his warnings and start working together solve the problems of the future.

I would never defent Harari but you're taking this out of context. What I believe he means, and I'm not defending his position, is with continuing technological infiltration (automation, AI, robots), many things which people currently do will no longer need to be done, therefore many jobs go away. A charitible interpretation on this is to plan for a world where this is true.

Not true. He labels them as useless, they don't label themselves that.
