I spent years struggling with undiagnosed mental health problems. The original song helped me through some of the tougher times. It felt like the voice of someone who's faced their own demons, helping me to fight mine. It now feels like an echo of my own voice when talking about those experiences.
This version of the song is no less beautiful, but it feels more like my parents or the doctors. It's like someone who's never been through that experience, but is honestly trying to understand. It feels like the kindness and reassurance of someone who's there for you even though they know you're facing something they never will.
