The worst storm i have ever been was with my cousin, I was 16 and he was 17. We started our trip at windspeeds of 6 m/s in our dads homebuilt wooden kayaks. After kayaking around some tight passages between islands for around 2 hours we finally reached the open sea and we realised there was about 14 m/s headwind. We ended up going being 100meters away from eachother and sometimes we could even see the other because of high waves. Communication was impossible due to the wind. After about 1.5 exhausting hours we reached a point where the wind wasnt that bad and we could re-group. This was in Sweden during the early summer and water temperature was around 13 Celsius
Good 2 to 3 foot waves with a short 2 to 3 second period. Appears you were often on two wave peaks at the same time. Welcome to the Gulf of Mexico. Fun paddling! Sure beats being socked in by fog going to Egmont Key.
Yup, I do that also in the North Sea, off Clacton, Brightlingsea, Mersea Island, in the UK. What kayak were you paddling? I usually use a Dagger Exodus & so far it's handled moderate waves, as in your video, very well. I wouldn't term it a storm though. Regards, JohnnyK.
mejor evitarlo !! mirar el parte....o quedarse en tierra. pero si te pilla !! ser prudente...navegar junto a los compañeros si los hay....y salir pronto del agua donde se pueda.
Absolute insanity! I fish with a Wilderness Systems 12ft. Kayak and won’t even tackle a turbulent windy big Florida lake. This guy is in an ocean with heavy chop with no land in sight. INSANITY
I'll tell you the truth, more than the waves would be the thought that there are sharks under those waves that would terrify me. If I got knocked out of my boat or knocked upside down, that would be #1 thing on my mind. Isn't Florida the number one place for shark attacks in the USA and maybe in the world?
Hey! I saw you liked that kyaking in the storm video and figured you might like mine! ! I took a buddy diving for river treasure and a storm came out of know where! We were in the middle of the river and his reaction is priceless! Here's the link if you get a chance: ua-cam.com/video/j1azdQNaykI/v-deo.html
Paddling away from the safety of dry land in 4 to 5 foot swells in a flimsy kayak is jack ass"ish" and begging for a very long swim, or a very quick drowning.

Seems my best days are not the best of days,,, Love paddling in wind and waves. Great vid, keep 'em coming.
*Mental note: Never kayak in a storm*
accept
Fun fact:
He's still out there paddling against the current, gaining a foot closer to shore a day 😁
I realize Im quite off topic but does anybody know a good place to watch new series online?
@Angel Korbyn flixportal :P
@Fabian Allan thank you, I signed up and it seems to work =) I appreciate it!
@Angel Korbyn happy to help :)
It's good to see other people enjoy rough water paddling!
@Lemon Master obv a joke right
@@zorndy5750 no he actually died

@@lynellethompson5521 what’s the tampa triangle ??
@@marcelgarcia7112 it is the outlet that goes from Tampa Bay out to the Gulf of Mexico. Paranormal activity allegedly happens there.
Hes actually smashin pretty fast. Still waters is boring. This is kayaking
You guys in the comments sound like a bunch of low life haters and I doubt any of you degrading the video would even attempt what he is doing.
I get what you’re saying but there’s a line between having fun and suicide that this guy is dancing on.

@The Banned somehow i always make it, so i never learn. This story isnt even a one time occurence but it is probably the most epic one
“Is my rolling good enough?” still creeps across my mind in those conditions
that sounds so fun i love going over the waves
Been there done that. Like a rollercoaster ride! Fun! 😊
I know kayaks are casual and all, but they are pretty resilient little boats!
i love that run from ft de soto to egmont! even on a clear day it can be a dicey one. nicely done! you make me feel more normal for liking this stuff.
Great job feathering that paddle!
Looks like the sea Kayak handles very well
Wow - that's actually a little scary! Almost need an outrigger for that!
Great video mate - I've just subscribed.

You and your kayak handled those waves well 👍 stay safe
Good fun. I love extreme conditions.

Basically don’t ever kayak without your spray deck otherwise you’ll be swimming in seconds 😅
looks so fun!
You need a snorkel for that kind of weather lol.
you dont necessarily need it... if you want to hydrolock your engine
Fantastic and wild. What are the water temperatures?
I don't suggest doing this where there are strong currents. Might end up in the middle of the ocean. Small craft warnings exist for a reason.
я так понимаю - перпендикулярно волнам идти можно, а вот параллельно врятли получится))
To truly know the ocean one must go to it as one would go to a sweetheart. Alone
How long it was to be at Home ? :D

crazy!!!!!!
I almost died doing this exact shit.
I went kayaking in a bad storm the other day. Utterly terrifying
And out of nowhere... Cthulhu arises!!
Awesome man
Could you srite what is a name type of this kayak
Necky Arluk
Это шторм?
Chuthulu will get you next time!
Decent sized swells for sure, but that is no "storm".
Kayaks are extremely sea worthy.
Is that in the middle of the ocean what are you doing there? Lol
I guess he did since he posted this : )
Looks like an ave average day off the coast of Vancouver island....
Your picture is my face when I read the description of the video

Why is it that every kayak video i run into seems to involve life-threatening peril?
Clearly kayaks are not protective

That was a storm? Lol. Each to their own.
You had to face the waves in a better way ....
I do this all the time.. he is literally on a sand bar or very close to shore. He is not out far.
I'm in the South Egmont Channel.
Where is the storm?
It was a storm in a teacup
That area has downpours that come out of no place and sunshower downpours if he is in the Tampa Triangle.
How to get swept out to sea
Joking? The lake where I paddle is 10 km long, waves break into the cockpit on a regular basis

Not much of a storm. Barely any white caps. I've seen worse water on the Columbia River.
Is it me or is this just nearly flat and windy
Go pros never do the conditions justice
Try a river and you ll see big waves
Yee, the lake my town is built by can be sketchy! Paddling back in rough weather is difficult! But it is fun if ya got a good kayak
Doesnt look too bad

Why would anyone kayak in a storm? Adrenaline junkie? Death wish? What? Just doesn't seem like a smart thing to do. I mean c'mon people.
Just another reason why kayaks are garbage. Buy a boat. You'll save money and have a better fishing vessel
Nothing special
Boring
A storm. There are hardly any breakers at all. Thats just lumpy. 15 to.20kph wind..
