Black devil and White prince's couple was toxic at first but at this point i'm pretty sure its just their kink(Manga reader here) also some of the Japanese manga romance adaptations are also very confusing and they dont put everything there so it looks like they dint make sense at all. But in the manga, the Female lead and male lead accepted their flaws and love each other for who they are. Its actually a really wholesome manga-

Said this before, will say it again: Entertainment industry really romanticizes obsession and jealousy of the men/ male characters in the story which is completely wrong,in the message it creates for the younger audience watching and in comparison to reality. There is nothing romantic about it, and there never will be. A lover/partner is someone who stands on equal footing with you and respects your choices. Don't ever believe otherwise.
So true, obsessive and possessive characters (mostly male) are indeed popular in all sorts of entertainment, whether it's novels, manhwas, manhuas, mangas, animes and dramas. My younger sister even prefer yandere male leads!
But it also sets an example of a toxic relationship and educates people about the signs and how it is to be in one. I'd say its rather a good thing to have some dramas showcasing this harsh reality. Not all relationships are sunshine and rainbows. However, I'll agree that some dramas make it ought to be romance and the female lead ends up with the toxic guy; now that's totally unacceptable.

So many the problematic behavior of the ml is excused for the reason that he is attracted to the fl and somehow his actions are forgivable which is not. Fl ending up with the toxic guy is a very common trope although these days there are improvements in the representation of fl and characters of ml. Still large part of the audience remains ignorant of what is wrong and what isn't.

My friend's boyfriend abuses her in an inhuman manner.. on her bday he slapped her when we were in a resort just bcoz she changed her password.. he went to her home went pass through her dad, snatched her phone and threw in the floor bcoz she didn't replied his call.. my friend used to cheat on him and I guess that what made him abusive.. but it gets worse day by day..
