All these notions are cultural that got ingrained into the muslim community from the hindu majority community when India and Pak were one. I'm from India and i know how the Hindu culture works. But all these things are not a part of Islam and we need to be educated about this. Any child, girl or boy, will always remain the child of their biological parents. Uska farz hai apne maa baap ki khidmat karna. Shaadi se pehle aur shaadi ke baad bhi. Saas sasur ki khidmat karna kahin farz nahi hai. They have no right over the bahu or damaad. Shaadi sirf ek single insaan se hoti hai and usi se rishta banta hai. If a girl wants to serve her in-laws, thats her wish. But not a farz on her.
Don't blame the Hindu community for the problems which muslims are facing. Even if for argument's sake, let's accept that these types of things got ingrained in muslims coz of hindus, even then the period of 75+ years is enough to change these things. If muslims are unable to do that, then it's not the hindus' fault. Though India is not a paradise for women, and I agree that things should change but remember, according to the statistics, Muslim majority countries in the world also don't have a very good record when it comes to women's rights. Are hindus also responsible for it ? So plz don't make it into a Hindu - Muslim issue ok. Each and every community or country in the world have its own set of problems. One community can't be blamed for the problems of another community. And it is not just limited to the hindus and muslims. It applies on everyone.
