  • So this time I decided to turn the 1/2HP LEGO motor into a table saw. This thing cut nearly everything I threw into it, but occasionally failed because it's made of... well... LEGO. I finally made something to secure that giant motor this time which you can probably see in the background. It significantly decreased the failure rate of what it's powering due to the fact that it can't move around as much.

WARNING: I strongly advise you to not recreate anything you see in this video. The power from your wall is of a high voltage and thus dangerous! Powerful motors are also dangerous as they can snag hair, jewelry, and clothing. I have lots of experience with wiring, motors, and power electronics, so I believe I am more or less qualified to safely work with stuff like this.

I would swap your motor from a 1/2 horse motor to a 4 horse motor

That would require attaching an axle instead of a gear, which is something that I attempted to do, but couldn’t find a way.

What did you use for the blade?

LEGO part 61403. Since it didn't have an axle hole I had to super glue it in place. That's right, I used the Kragle.

@@ikeaframe1772 The saw blades are something I NEVER use as they are purely for decoration. I also had a worn out 12L axle, so it’s not like I made a bid sacrifice. However, they were given a proper burial.
