If the government has access to the data it would be even worse than corporations because they can punish us for going to the "wrong" places and associating with the "wrong" people. I don't care if corporations have my data because they can't do anything to me. The government is far more dangerous.
Cell phone can be put in a faraday phone case, thrown away, left at home. The biggest atrocities ever committed were by government/big corporations and you think it's a good idea to give that much power, influence, and information to them? Even after seeing the corruption and abuses that occurred during covid. We need less government not more.
if a child goes missing, it would be rather neat to have all of the information to track him down, no? besides, what are you doing in your everyday lives that's so damn important that you'd be opposed to being seen by the surveillance cameras?
oh stop with the fear mongering. the kids will be alright. plus, hypothetically if these systems were hacked criminals could track your children to the washroom. just saying.
Do you honestly think if Google ran the government and knew literally every detail of your life and every move you make they wouldn't use it to prevent their "customers" from not wanting to be owned?

Sorry but I think there is alot of good that comes from public surveillance. And can't see what would be possibly wrong. @@terryblais9128 what about when your government rules that you are a terrorist because you don’t agree with their policies, agenda or actions. What about when the government decides you are a “threat to national security” because you don’t conform to the insanity of their regime and openly speak your mind about it. The problems is you lack the intuition to think about the possibility that these systems designed to “protect us” might actually be designed to control us. Look into ESGs CBDCs UBIs SGDs etc. I have no intention of “doing bad things” but I wouldn’t trust my government for a single second and be naive enough to believe they have our best interests at heart when they’re trying to implement systems like this all so rapidly coincidentally within times of turmoil and suffering due to policies and actions that exacerbate the deliberate downfall of our economies and lead to the turmoil and suffering in the first place. Wow, thank you for standing up for our rights!
Smart City should be called Control City
Not enough people like this woman
Luckily
God bless this woman for standing up against the dystopia

Anika the plan is a complete surveillance by big tech and govt.. hello ..think china social credit score..its here..
yup. if we're anti-capitalist in any shape or form, technofascism will cancel us.

Interesting that 2 years later CBC is pro technocracy, pro big Pharma, they are pro forced vaccination, pro lockdown, pro mandate etc.

Everyone: yay cool tech city thing

CBC yah right.
Smart people limit tech.
Lmao, riiiight, because bill gates is ethical.

I like this lady, but she's a touch naive if she thinks Bill Gates of all people is going to do anything to secure people's privacy.
I just don’t want to be overdrawn at the memory bank.....
Get out of cities....

The tech isn't the problem. The problem is capitalism.
and you mean Communism is the answer? great, because we have a great history of communism.

I don't think the type of system is the problem as all countries face this problem. There needs to be an international treaty on internet privacy

Go read 1984 and Brave New World.
