Legendary 80’s heavy metal star and ‘rocks chosen warrior’ Sammi Curr repulsed and enthralled a generation of parents and their kids in equal measure. Days before a hometown concert in October 1986 Curr was killed in a hotel fire aged 38 and shortly afterwards his music was completely withdrawn from the public arena. The reasons for this remain unclear, but remain a hot topic for conspiracy theorists to this day.
Electric Love Messiah covered one of Curr’s most notorious songs during a break in touring during August 1990. Here, for the first time, is their version of the classic ‘Torture’s Too Kind’.
