Hi Emma I also take a little white board for the kids you can get them in Poundland or home bargains hours of noughts and crosses no paper flying everywhere xxx
when we were little my sister and I used to do those sticker dolly dressing books, they have absolutely loads in places like Waterstones and were a great way to distract us!!
My must pack is kids sticker books and a see through small pencil case with a few nappy bags that can be used as a rubbish bags or to put any clothes that might have got dirty ...
Sticker books as don’t require any pens ect and keep my kids entertained for quite some time plus they take them down of an evening when we go for food to keep them entertained
I always pack a spare outfit change just in case our cases get lost. That’s my reason. And I love that you have not used an iPad or electronic device 😀
The one essential I always bring (particularly on a flight longer than a few hours!) is the travel sachets of calpol. My youngest has just turned 2, my eldest almost 5. I’ve never needed it so far but 10 hours of continuous screaming could hopefully be avoided if they feel a bit off!! X
We used to do long haul flights almost every school holiday as kids (Mom lived abroad!) and the best part was always going to the kitchen and filling our arms with alllllll the snacks whilst everyone was asleep 😂
Great tips.... My worst flight was actually coming home from florida.... We had a stop to pick people up from Cuba....half way home... During our flight somebody became really poorly.... We diverted back to florida who wouldn't let's us land as the people we picked up from Cuba had no USA visas....we then took off again.... Until.. We were told we didn't have enough fuel to get to Ireland and the staff would have been working too long.. Only option was back to Cuba...by this time all food and drink on board was gone.... . But they had a hurricane a few weeks earlier so not many hotels could put us up....when we finally landed back in the UK 2 days later... the plane tyre burst and we were stuck in the plane for hours..my son then started his 1st ever day at school the next day....jetlagged... but I'd still go again..... 😂
It was sad and stressful ... My son was nearly 5 and an absolute angel.... If it had been his younger brother I don't know how I'd have coped.... 😂... No plane bag would have helped him.... 😂
We’ve done a few long hauls with our little boy at various ages. We used to keep “healthy” snacks in his bag and then lollipops and sweets in our bag (for emergency bribery!). I agree with Pez being good as they take a while to eat! I also always travel with a soft pashmina or large scarf. Good for me and the kiddo! Can be used as a blankie, folded up for a pillow and make mini dens! Happy travels :-)
We pack for UK holidays a pad of paper and clipboard with a list of things to look for out the car window. Like, red tractors, a bus, a motorbike, then the kids tick every time they see something on their list. Then a mini prize when full. We did it as kids, it's traditional!
Loved the tip about the num num or shopkins will be getting some of those for our flight this year. First flight with two children to California, one child is 4 one will be 1 😬
Hi emma! Brilliant video. I'm long haul cabin crew myself and would recommend maybe a spare blanket, there isn't always spares on board, drinks usually get spilt by children all over them x Hope that helps. X
I think you’ve packed less to entertain the kids than I intend to pack for myself when we go away next month! I’m sure you’re having an amazing time, enjoy!
When you first posted this I had a tiny baby, now I have a nearly 7 year old and a 3 year old. We’re going on a plane so I’m re watching this for tips in 2024 😂 x
I haven't been on a flight since I was eight but I remember we went to Florida and I was soooo travel sick on the way home. I remember the food was rank too and I was so dissapointed and upset because on the way there I just ate Gregg's sausage rolls which my Mam had bought loads off from the airport and I didn't understand why she hadnt brought more. America is sadly Gregg'sless :( x
I’m currently watching this as we are off to Disneyland Paris in a few weeks! I managed to find the Mickey bag on eBay with tags so I’m buzzzzzing haha
We love the Melissa and Doug’s “water wow” notebooks, it’s a reusable water drawing pad where you just fill up the little paint brush with water. We use them in ride lines too 👍🏻 hope you have an amazing trip! Following along on insta 😜
We always get a book/ magazine along with dads paper at the airport for our inflight entertainment whilst mummy necks as many G&Ts as possible to get through the flight!! 😂😂😂

BAZINGA001 It’s a type of bag, also known as an “overnight” or “weekender” bag where I’m from. It’s made of a softer fabric and zip up, like a tog bag but bigger.
