Phases of moon explained using an orrery

  • As the moon rotates around the earth it travels through phases.
The alignment of the sun, earth, and moon create the phases.
I use an orrery to explain the moon's alignment during,
new moon, waxing crescent, ist quarter, waxing gibbous, full moon, waning gibbous, last quarter, waning crescent, and back to new moon.
The sidereal period is 27.3 and the moon is measured against stars.
The synodic period is 29.5 days and the moon is measured against the sun.

So a new moon is the sun behind the moon at night so that we see no moon? Yet it's dark even though the sun and moon are on the same side of earth at the same time? Where is the sun during the night again? Cause I thought I was taught the sun is on the other side of earth at night?

The moon goes over your head 28 times in a "month." Not once in 28 days. Our Gregorian calendar is the only unit of measure that has unequal lengths. This is all to confuse you about the earth and moon. An inch is an inch is an inch. Centimeter. Hour. Mile..... But a month can be 3 diff lengths... LOL! Confused yet? Month comes from the word Moon. A moon cycle. Except Pope Gregory decided we needed to change it so people would turn to the church for answers and not nature.

The earth is older than the sun. When the moon and the sun came about, they were to give the seasons, and time to make up for days and months, and years... Why then the moon moved around the earth and the sun did not, instead, the earth that was in place steady originally, was then made to move around the sun. First of all, is the earth a planet...that it should move. In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth...later the sun and moon were created together with stars and planets...earth was not one among these because it was already there...just curious...

There is plain evidence that the World/Earth is not a globe!
The World is a Flat-Plate under the Dome Firmament just as the Bible describes!
Water and all fluids always lay line-flat; land, liquids and gases never ever curve into the shape of a spherical ball!
The Satanic, make-belief, computer generated/animated globe model is a massive deception; simply put, the shape of the fake globe is logically flat-out impossiball!
Still think the World is a spherical ball ?! Observe the proof for your own self; we all being deceived by the Satanic, disgusting, wicked, World Governments!
      Here's the Flat-out Truth:
      ua-cam.com/video/xTf5BtXBhxE/v-deo.html

bendy magic I thought you guys lived around the globe

    • @EvikeMVo
      @EvikeMVo 3 роки тому

      1. It is just flat-out impossible for fluids to rest dead-still (not even an ultra-slight "pico-bit" of movement at all) if the World was a spherical ball that spun on the axis AND traveled around the Sun at the same time. It is logical fact that fluids can never-ever rest dead-still if being spun on a ball, even if the speed of the ball is constant. The centrifugal force of a rotating ball is felt and active even if the spinning-speed of it is not changing.
(at the wicked-fast pace of well over 50,000miles/hour as the fake, make-belief globe-model deceives sheeple into believing)
      2. If a downward acceleration force exists that keeps mass from floating/rising up out of the World's atmosphere is in existance then how come NASA liers have to be hooked on wires even when up in "space" and how come clouds never ever fall down to the World's ground surface-level due to the magical, weird, "universal", "down-to-Earth", vector force-field that retards believe can "curve water / land" around into the shape of a ball/globe.
      3. Some living beings can't even move on their own will and have no conscious mind at all; including: grass, bushes, trees, flowers, mushrooms, vegetables and fruits. Non-living objects or items including: dust, powder, fluids, pebbles, stones/rocks and clouds are definitely not able to move on their own, as their conscienceness is non-existent.
The non-existent, animated, make-believe globe-model shows a spinning rock-ball/globe that both spins and travels rapidly in "outer space", with out being able to give a single pigshit explanation for the reason why the globe is spinning and traveling in "outer space" to begin with. Those wicked, stubborn, ignorant, liers either don't or can't provide a single pigshit explanation as to what fuels the spin as well.

When we ALWAYS see the Sun Rise in the East and Set in the West !?

    • @carultch
      @carultch Рік тому

Eclipses in general move from west to east. Only in rare scenarios of solar eclipses near the poles, does the solar eclipse move from east to west.
The moon's tangential speed is about twice as fast as the Earth's tangential speed of rotation. If the Earth didn't rotate, the moon would rise in the west and set in the east. So the moon is actually moving west to east, we just don't normally experience this, because our own planet is rotating. When there is an eclipse, the tangential velocity of the moon matters more, than the angular velocity of the Earth, and thus eclipses in general move west to east.

Yeah and also the Moon's shadow on the Earth is very small, so solar eclipses are seen in a relatively quite narrow streak around the world when they occur. There can be a full eclipse somewhere, a partial eclipse nearby to the North and to the South, and no eclipse at all further North and further South. (In fact it's not due North nor due South: the streak is almost never parallel the equator, as the Earth's axis of rotation is tilted and it is the Earth's rotation that makes the shadow "move" around. On top of that, the curved surface of the Earth makes the shadow move in a curved trajectory.)

But when the moon is behind the earth or 180° as you say...shouldn't we have a moon eclipse instead of "full moon,,?😒
Where does the moon get the sunlight from in that position...considering that the earth is 4 times bigger than the moon. Do you have an explanation for that as well?

@@lohanthony The moon is not always in the same plane as the earth and the Sun. So the earth can't block light during every full moon. But every once in a while they align close to the same plane and a lunar eclipse occurs. When they are exactly in the a same plane, the earth blocks all the light that should have fallen on the moon and a total lunar eclipse is seen.
I think a video on lunar eclipses will make everything clear.

Do you really believe this things that you are saying or just trying to defend your theory?
But the problem is that the module that you are showing in your video, the sun...earth and moon are in the same plane and we still have a full moon.😏
I think you still have to work hard with the moon's shape of orbit around the earth...and make another video, and maybe it can "work,, but still can't work.

@@sajohysa2135 making a model to scale would be impractical since astronomical distances are so large. You might want to brush up on that at learnastronomy.com
Even if he showed a 5° tilt in the moon's orbit , it would never allow for a full moon at such small distances and large models for planets. The model is there to help us understand, not to claim that that's how it really is.
This is not my video, but I hope the creator knows that I appreciate the hard work and time he has invested into making this model.
