"Shadow Step": It is a Metaphor on the Way that Jesus has for us to walk (Steps).
Even if we do not see his way in totally or as the Apostle Paul declares in 1 Corinthians 13:12: "... We see as a Reflection, as a Shadow ..."
Even so! This Shadow of His steps will be enough to guide us on the path proposed through Faith in Christ!

When I look through these comments I see things like 'I love Taya' and 'Taya is such a blessing'. Just think about how she came to this point. God would not have been able to use her if she had not one day decided to fully entrust Him with her life and believe in the purpose he has called her. It's a beautiful thing and a message to us on its own. She is merely a living testament of what God can do when we choose Him. :)

What a song! I heard about this song on the podcast, and the mixed reaction even they had to the song made me curious. I wholeheartedly agree with their reaction. "Shadow Step" as arranged here is a wonderful meditation on the "long road" of conversion, as "from glory into glory".
On the record, it's not that, and I'm confused by what it wants to be. The emphasis here is on "you were always there", and "move me like you do the mountains" (slowly, arduously, with the passing of each step, barely seen in the moment). On the record, the emphasis feels much stronger on the unexpected, and on "what's next".
I so much prefer this version, both for its sound and feel, and for the sense of emphasis. This version sings through with the hard-won, earned wisdom of years.
