I ADORE this song. (I also adore the early 90's pop sound to it...lol ) But most of all, we all most answer the call of Christ. Whether it be home or in other nations, we MUST. Time is getting short. God is coming.....
Beautiful..... we are called to surrender EVERYTHING. To his will and purposes. Unless we lose our lives we will never know the reality or depth of his grace and mercy.
The Call is actually spreading the Gospel of Christ amoung the nations, amoung the states, in your back yard. Everywhere is a missions field. Listen to the Call and you will never regret it.
This is simply one of the most beautiful songs to come out of the early 90's....just listen to it.....and it's message is so deep. Really makes me think what would I do for the Call of the Lord Jesus....
tjonesauto AGREE to answer a "CALL of DUTY" 4 keeping PEACE.. BELIEVERS SALVATION w/ OUR SAVIOR... BY THE WAY WATCHES OVER ALL IT'S unFORTUNATE that some WILL b a SACRIFICE 4 CONFLICTS w/other NATIONS... JESUS was EVERYONE'S SACRIFICE🕇🕊🙏
the call is for all of us.. I just wonder how many of us know this.. This song is such an eye opener for every believer, great reminder for all generations to come
Y.C.S out of South Holland, IL 1992, 1993 are you out there!!! Fresh Fire, Fire Fresh!!! Your Later is NOW!!!!! remember it was for the Sake of the CALL, wake-up get-up, don't let the Fire Die. Forever Friends YCS (Young Christian Society).
It's a beautiful song, I wish that it was that simple sadly in real life the lessons of Christ are forgotten or they are just taken completely the wrong way. And there are those who messed up the image of Christ and God.
@lonestarrgirl Actually, the canon Old Testamen is the Hebrew Tanakh. The Torah (Law) makes up the first five books of the OT. The only difference is that the Tanakh has Samuel, Kings and Chronicles as one book each, and in some publications combine the twelve lesser prophetic books into one.
@ImmortalSpirit1 That was in the 1600's and we had discovered fewer texts. And what books were taken out? My mom has a KJV Bible and the list of books is identical to my Hebrew Bible, the only difference being that the Hebrew Bible has combined certain books that the KJV has seperate.
@orlandobabe Where do you get your information from? The King James Bible was translated from the original text, Hebrew, Arabic and Greek. There may be men who preach the Bible differently, but that's because they are not taking it as face value, but giving their own opinions. When you look at the hurt in the world it all comes from sin. Sin is the cause of all mankinds troubles....lies, stealing, killing, gossip, etc..... If there is a problem sin is the root of it usually.
I love this song and appreciate the time and effort in creating this video! But I would request one thing... That the images of "Jesus" be removed. Deut 4:15-18 "Therefore watch yourselves very carefully. Since you saw no form on the day that the Lord spoke to you at Horeb out of the midst of the fire, beware lest you act corruptly by making a carved image for yourselves, in the form of any figure, the likeness of male or female, the likeness of any animal that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged bird that flies in the air, the likeness of anything that creeps on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the water under the earth...."
"For The Sake Of The Call" We will abandon it all for the sake of the call No other reason at all but the sake of the call Wholly devoted to live and to die for the sake of the call Nobody stood and applauded them So they knew from the start This road would not lead to fame All they really knew for sure Was Jesus had called to them He said "come follow Me" and they came With reckless abandon, they came Empty nets lying there at the water's edge Told a story that few could believe And none could explain How some crazy fishermen agreed to go where Jesus lead With no thought to what they would gain For Jesus had called them by name And they answered... We will abandon it all for the sake of the call No other reason at all but the sake of the call Wholly devoted to live and to die for the sake of the call The sake of the call Drawn like the rivers are drawn to the sea There's no turning back, for the water cannot help but flow Once we hear the Savior's call, we'll follow wherever He leads Because of the love He has shown And because He has called us to go We will answer... We will abandon it all for the sake of the call No other reason at all but the sake of the call Wholly devoted to live and to die Not for the sake of a creed or a cause Not for a dream or a promise Simply because it is Jesus who called And if we believe we'll obey We will abandon it all for the sake of the call No other reason at all but the sake of the call We will abandon it all for the sake of the call No other reason at all but the sake of the call Wholly devoted to live and to die for the sake of the call For the sake of the call We will abandon it all for the sake of the call No other reason at all We will abandon it all No other reason at all We will abandon it all
I love this song, but I think it would be more powerful if he would have talked about the disciples after Jesus ascended back into heaven and they went out preaching. That's when the Disciples really abandoned it all, for the sake of the call. They preached the same message everywhere and they were willing to die for what they believed and preached....which is given to us in the writings of the New Testamen.
This only sounds good because it sounds "pretty" and aligns with your beliefs. If this was someone singing about a god you didn't believe in, but they also believed wholeheartedly was the one "true god," you'd find it terrifying. "No other reason at all/for the sake of the call/wholly devoted/to live and to die" could easily be the mantra of terrorists who also feel called by a god: Christian, Muslim, Jewish, anyone.
@DavidbarZeus1 Many of the Old Testament Books are the same as the Hebrew Torah. Jesus being a Jew and everything was centered around Jews and the Middle East.
@lonestarrgirl I chose to believe in God and Jesus alone, I enjoy reading and hearing the amazing stories in the bible but doesn't mean that I believe it all the way. I don't believe we came from one man and one woman and I don't believe that a man was swallowed and vomitted out. But I believe in God and Jesus.
@DavidbarZeus1 Minor changes? Seriously. When the KJV was written, they took out 7 books from the Old Testament. It was written by men. You need to read you bible. There's some horrible stuff in there.
@orlandobabe Really, than find some apologetics and everyone will tell you that A:the Bibles we have now are as accurate as possible B: that even with the millenia that have passed, they are the same as the oldest copies we have, with only a few MINOR differences, and C: that the oldest copies are from within 5 centuries of the original authors-with hundreds of copies, far better than the competition that usually has only a handful of copies showing up a millenia after the originals
Who's listening this in 2019?. Jesus is the SAME TODAY.... YESTERDAY and FOREVER!!!!! The Alpha and Omega!. I Love you Jesus!!
God bless you Steven. This song never gets old, and continues to bless all who hear it .

gotta hand it to youtube...looked up this song and they started it with a Jim Beam ad. Sheesh. Marketing majors...do you ever have a clue?
What exactly is the call? I am a free spirit, and I get half of what the song said but still have a few questions about it.

This is my Ringtone.

I (Y) this song
@DavidbarZeus1 He's got a point there!
@DavidbarZeus1 The Book of Judith, First and Second Maccabees for starters.
I love this song and appreciate the time and effort in creating this video! But I would request one thing... That the images of "Jesus" be removed. @TheJesusfreak10001 Follow to where?
@Imforeverone88 All right not? Note this I will not convert just love talk to another person who believes in the book.
"For The Sake Of The Call"
We will abandon it all for the sake of the call
No other reason at all but the sake of the call
Wholly devoted to live and to die for the sake of the call
Nobody stood and applauded them
So they knew from the start
This road would not lead to fame
All they really knew for sure
Was Jesus had called to them
He said "come follow Me" and they came
With reckless abandon, they came
Empty nets lying there at the water's edge
Told a story that few could believe
And none could explain
How some crazy fishermen agreed to go where Jesus lead
With no thought to what they would gain
For Jesus had called them by name
And they answered...
We will abandon it all for the sake of the call
No other reason at all but the sake of the call
Wholly devoted to live and to die for the sake of the call
The sake of the call
Drawn like the rivers are drawn to the sea
There's no turning back, for the water cannot help but flow
Once we hear the Savior's call, we'll follow wherever He leads
Because of the love He has shown
And because He has called us to go
We will answer...
We will abandon it all for the sake of the call
No other reason at all but the sake of the call
Wholly devoted to live and to die
Not for the sake of a creed or a cause
Not for a dream or a promise
Simply because it is Jesus who called
And if we believe we'll obey
We will abandon it all for the sake of the call
No other reason at all but the sake of the call
We will abandon it all for the sake of the call
No other reason at all but the sake of the call
Wholly devoted to live and to die for the sake of the call
For the sake of the call
We will abandon it all for the sake of the call
No other reason at all
We will abandon it all
No other reason at all
We will abandon it all
@DavidbarZeus1 Look at that! Another version of OUR so called story of beginning, thank God I only chose to believe God and God alone.
