The level 8 light machine fusion text is written that way to specifically only work with the ABC, XYZ and VWXYZ fusions.... And according to yugipedia, it also includes Cyber Twin Dragon.
I think that second effect you're thinking is meant to be a Summon BEs reference might be for Obelisk. Because what else would Kaiba love to summon after Special Summoning 3 monsters at the same time to get this effect?

Also, it's an upgrade to help the older cards more. I like how it has updated support instead of being tacked on extra cards in the archetype. These new cards are good. I like full archetypes that can play on its own without engines or outside support

This support is soo close to being what the deck needed. The problem is the new boss monster, which is clearly just a bridge into the original XYZ-Dragon Cannon, goes about it in the most unhelpful way. If it summoned the components from the deck, or even just included the hand it would be great, but reviving the components only works if you have a consistent way to dump them. Currently the best way to summon the Original XYZ-Dragon Cannon is to open Union Hanger and XYZ Combine. Activate Hanger; search Either Y-Dragon Head or Z-Metal Tank. Activate XYZ Combine. Summon the searched card, then equip the other to it with Union Hangers second effect. Contact fuse them into XY-Tank Dragon. Activate Combines First effect to summon X-Head Cannon, then defuse XY-Tank Dragon with XYZ Combine second effect, then combine your new 3 monsters into XYZ-Dragon Cannon. Since the new support doesn't take on the names of the original cards or summon them more efficiently, the only things the new support adds is a way to search the previously unsearchable XYZ Combine. So good luck summoning ABC-Dragon Buster without Union Hanger's effects. If the new support has unlocked other ways to get A-to-Z on the board (or at least get XYZ-Dragon Cannon on the board easier) let me know

Question: The new Y head and Z tank can loop themselves as long there's light machine monsters banished?, I mean, SS one to get themselves or other one using like a max 6 card to loop and summon things as long are "light machine" from extra or anything by adding extra normal summon for tributes?, even using monters cards to banish instead sending to grave to keep the loop going? This could possibly end on bringing multiple CD infinity? And other monsters? I mean, as long as they are Special summon can fetch something from the banish zone, then the new piece will special summon itself to fetch another thing and I think it's a soft one per turn the self summon while equipped
Been spreading this around since I realized it but: X equips Y to make Controller which adds Activation. Activation adds Z which Controller summons, letting Z equip Y to make a second Controller. This makes Beatrice. These cards have a 1 card turn skip. X isnt the only one that does it though since Activation also has a line. Activation add X. Summon X and equip Y to make controller and add Hangar. Hangar add Z. Controller summons Z and Z equips Y to make another Controller. Thats a total of 9 copies of a 1 card Beatrice line to turn skip with. Can even add more by using a SHS engine if you want but feels like the bricks arent worth it lol.
I also thought of making Beatrice when I saw union controller, bit I didn't think about just making another controller. I was too hyper focused on checking if there were any level 6 main deck monsters with 3k atk (there isn't)
Honestly I have no idea how these will end up matching with other stuff, I'm just going to make a list with these as it's the only fusion archetype I've ever really enjoyed
I feel like they missed an opportunity to make it an actual XYZ monster. Its right there in the name, and you're already stacking them on top of each other! Other than that, these look amazing! The new Hyper Dragon Cannon is definitely up to par with ABC. The materials and summoning condition are infinitely less clunky compared to the originals, and the tag-out effect is extremely good - XYZ can't dodge targeting with it like ABC, but you can set up a ton of link materials plus another Fusion Summon The removal effect is strictly worse than ABC's, and a bit of a side-grade compared to the old XYZ. It's a Quick Effect and can hit spells/traps now, but you can only use it once per opponent's turn instead of an unrestricted number of times on your turn.
I must say even if like a lot X-Y-Z i find a bad joke the fact that we didn't had Sartorius Arcana Forces support on this set about LIGHT PLAYERS even if he was the leader of the society of LIGHT only used LIGHT monsters was being controlled by the LIGHT of destruction and 2024 is the 20 anniversary of the series where he appeared
We don't have all the set spoilers yet, do we? Because we BETTER get Arcana Force. Seriously, Unions almost broke the game less than half a decade ago and now we're getting more of them when I can only remember Arcana Force receiving the one additional anime import, and that something like a year ago?
JUST RUN A PURE VERSION OF THEM that is all the A card-themed. That combo really freaking well on their own it's the primary thing I don't like about Yugioh where you can't just play entirely pure archetype like other card game aka buddyfight cardfight vanguard mtg, etc
In my opinion these are very mediocre and do nothing the Ojama support doesn't do better. Maybe in a dedicated deck it'll be okay but in my Manjoume and my Kaiba decks these are not needed.

They're probably also going to have Kaiba high jack the set cover from Mizar, like what happened with the Water Duelist Pack

This plus psychic arsenal/processor could make for an interesting multi-archetype fusion deck.
I loved ABC unions back when they first came out. If these makes those bad boys even a little playable in the meta I am going all in
If nothing else, X is a good in archetype extender and with controller the deck is a bit more consistent.

Kinda surprised that they didn't make Dimensional Catapult into a real card. In the original Japanese, that's the STU card (Super Thunder Unit).
