Oilers vs Canucks Game 4 - The GCL Diesel Oil Stream Pregame Show - 05-14-24

Live from Hudsons on Whyte Ave former Oilers goalie Joaquin Gage joins Tom Gazzola to get you set for game four action between the Vancouver Canucks and the Edmonton Oilers!
Canucks reporter Irf Gaffar also joins the show to give some insight on the Canucks side of things.
Calvin Pickard will make his first career playoff start in the NHL getting the nod for the Edmonton Oilers while Stuart Skinner has to sit.
After his actions last game, Carson Soucy received a one-game suspension for his crosscheck to Captain Connor McDavid.
Through three games this series, the Vancouver Canucks have more hits, blocked shots and most importantly, wins while the Edmonton Oilers lead with more shots in total.
With the projected lineup for the Edmonton Oilers, McDavid and Leon Draisaitl will start on their own lines while Dylan Holloway gets the bump up to the left wing with Draisaitl on the second line.
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins will start with McDavid and Zach Hyman.
On the other side, Noah Juulsen steps in for Carson Soucy.
To start the show, Gage and Gazzola talk the previous games and the big changes coming into tonight's matchup.
Irf Gaffar joins to talk about the Canucks side of things and he mentions Quinn Hughes and how he thinks the Canucks will show a lot of him tonight. He sheds some light on the amount of shots, or lack of shots the Canucks have put towards the Oiler net. Gaffar states that the Nucks have to test Pickard early and get those shots on goal. At the same time, Gaffar says that if the Canucks take some penalties, the Oilers will be able to capitalize.
He moves back to how much Quinn Hughes can change the game tonight and about some things he can do more to help his team.
Gaffar moves onto the lineup changes with Soucy out and Noah Juulsen in.
Gager, Gazzola and Gaffar then talk a bit about the social media around the series and how it's added to the friction overall.
He then mentions Arturs Silovs and how he has more wins than Thatcher Demko in the playoffs...
Irf then shares his thought's on how this game will go highlighting that the Canucks have won 7-straight one goal games and how the Oilers will rely on McDavid and Draisaitl while the Canucks are down an important defenceman.
After Irf leaves, we hear from Kris Knoblauch and what he had to say after morning skate. Gager and Gazzola break down what he said before getting into 'Game Changers presented by Damon Bunting!
We dive back into the locker room where we hear from Oilers starting goalie, Calvin Pickard.
They break it down before highlighting that Stuart Skinner and Sam Gagner had a chat after the morning skate.
