We are so quick to judge we live in a sad world law enforcement. are human being for sure they will make mistakes like any human it seems to me like they doing their job
Yes, unfortunately people make mistakes and the police are people. Is it true that the truth was acknowledged only when a different police department stepped in, not the original investigators? It's super scary when authorities close ranks to protect themselves and treat the public as the enemy (especially nightmare cases you hear about in small towns in Texas and the South).
The former chief of police told the public information officer who conducted the conference to burn that b. From the jump, police never believed the victims, Aaron and Denise. They accused Aaron of murdering Denise. Aaron told them that the kidnapper was going to call back. Police took his phone and put it in airplane mode. The kidnapper did call and had they monitored his phone they would have pinged the caller to lake Tahoe. Misty, a police officer from another department, investigated her case and discovered all of this evidence trying to find the victim with the blond hair. she discovered that the suspect lived in Aaron's neighborhood and had been stalking some college students who had already identified their stalker. police did nothing. the police and fbi became tunnel vision with a theory and they doggedly pursued that theory which was Denise's kidnapping was unbelievable so she must have crafted a situation based on a movie. Denise was molested at age 12. police told her mom she may have set up this fake kidnapping to experience the thrill of her childhood molestation. nah this was not a simple human error. and those officers never were disciplined. and the investigating department never apologized to her until their was a new police chief
We need to praise the police when they do the right thing if we want better. Most departments would put this PR nightmare to bed by neglecting to investigate other crimes. This is a rare gem and an opportunity for us to show other departments that we support them fixing their mistakes and acknowledging fault. This is necessary for change.
