I love everything about this interview. I need to go back and listen again when I can focus better, but I feel the same way about realizing the circle especially now that I live somewhere with all four seasons.

What you said about belonging was incredible. The sound quality didn't matter. Thank you for sharing!

@29:38 Such a good question!!! I’ll give you a perfect example, I live in Florida and our trees’ leaves don’t get yellow, we don’t have a literal “winter”, our seasons are technically Summer and Fall…
This takes me back to the way the Ancient Egyptians experienced the seasons, surrounded around the Nile River and which were agriculturally based around three periods, quite similar to the modern day cross-quarters:
**Flooding Season** - Late Summer into Early Winter
**Emergence Season** - Late Winter into Early Spring
**Harvest Season** - Late Spring into Early Summer
I find it hilarious how the Harvest Season, to the Ancient Egyptians, is our Spring/Summer time rather than Autumn, but it makes perfect sense because the spring time is when we’re growing plants and some of them do sprout well into the Summer ready to be picked. And the Flooding Season is pretty much another form of Hibernation (Winter) because plants can not grow but once the water recedes the earth is ready for growth- here we just get periodic/spontaneous frosts in an unpredictable manner, so this season isn’t optimal for planting outside.
This is kind of how I have to look at the seasons based upon my environment.
Not only that, but it’s tricky to grow plants here because the sun is SUPER intense, it’s beyond ridiculous, I have to literally leave most of my plants in 80%-90% shade so I have the opposite problem that you do 😂

Thank you for sharing your experience! Great reminder to look to the Egyptian culture for inspiration!
