- Nazia Hassan (April 3, 1965 - August 13, 2000) was an iconic Pakistani pop singer.
She is known to be the "Sweetheart of Pakistan" and "The nightingale of East".
At fifteen, she changed the landscape of pop music in the Subcontinent.She died in the year 2000 due to ovarian cancer at an early age
When Nazia would have chosen to sing this song, she would have never thought about Indian or Pakistani, she just gave her own feel and charm to the song.This is raw music fusion which stunned the entire world with Western DISCO beats , Pakistani silk voice blended with rhythms of Indian music maestro BIDDU. She was in my class at Karachi American school in the late 70's She and her brother sang "Fernando" at the talent show , blew everyone away.
She lived about a block from me in KDA ,and I would hang out with her sometimes, I made her candy as a excuse to drop by.
The most gorgeous lady i had ever seen,,,, this song is my favorite one since long ago ,,,,but whenever i saw her,,,I felt in love with her,,,,,LOVE YOU NAZIA,,,,,everybody please pray for her departed soul,,,,
Nazia Hassan is an icon forever in our memories - I have been her fan since a teenager...very talented, very beautiful and most of all a very very humble and nice person...

Her voice puts me in a trance. I am 36, grew up listening to her voice. It's amazing how even with 5 billion people on this planet no one has this sensuousness in their voice.
Nazia Hassan was an excellent singer. I read that she was also a terrific human being with a kind heart. I am indian, but I have no hesitation in saying that I am inspired by Nazia. She has a unique charm and beauty. Her voice is melodious and she sings effortlessly. All her songs that I have heard, I feel like hearing again and again. I remember this great person on her birthday.

Have looked for this song for 30 years!! , While working nightshift @ GM Luton an Indian workmate played it to me I loved it immediately and we rewound it (1982 so cassette remember) and i got him to play it all night. The reason i couldn't find it was he mistakenly said the artist was Monsoon !! not Nazia, anyway hearing it again today on REPEAT !! many times made MY Heart go Boom Boom again!! Nazia didi has a divine voice and the songs were composed with tunes which were never concieved for many many years to come. Kudos to Biddu and to Naazia who sang theese songs with so much ease.I am an Indian and feel sad that good artists such as them have poor patronage there, hope in times to come there will be some improvement.

Suddenly read the News in Hindi News paper that the play back singer "Najia Hassan, the singer of above mentioned song is no more at London Untimely . from that time I became Fan of Najia's pop songs. Very Impressive and melodious voice never found again. I prey God may piece of her Soul. It was a Great loss for Music World, her Parents and entire family. I feel very sad when Listen to her departed Voice. May God a lot of to her Soul.
