I know it doesn't bother you DOC but all your haters should worry more about promoting their own content vs. worrying about you. I can say you are elite in comparison. Ryan Knorr is about the only guy who keeps his focus on his own content hence why you two guys are the best. Yes, LCN is also very professional. Your videos are great and I enjoy all your content..
I was not aware that you shouldn’t put down weed killer or pre emergent on new sod. That’s probably why my lawn is so thin. Did it last year. This is year 2 on my lawn. So how can I improve the thickness of the sod.
Doc, What do you recommend what kind of seeds I want to put a putting green like you and green like you in upstate New York look at Yukon Bermuda seed?
What do i need to do in Tennessee in September i am going to spray for weeds within the next week . I'll have to wait to seed about a month right?? I know October is to late to seed but what should i do until seeding season.
I live in San Diego. Whats the best way to keep your lawn looking great. I have a gopher problem. I use replant. They still come. I often have to dig into my lawn to trap them. Any advice?
Right now in August in North Texas it's 90+ every day. Can I try planting Bermuda now? I imagine if I water it, it will germinate before the first frost in November? The go dormant through the winter?
What are your thoughts with using scotts turf builder for seeding? I'm planting bermuda in a few weeks when soil temps are consistently above 55 degrees and I'm wanting to put this lawn food down that claims to act as a pre emergent for crab grass but won't affect the germination of the bermuda
i have a south facing lawn on a slope all the grass dies every year by july 4th because of the sun on it all day till dusk, a friend suggested Bermuda grass but i live in upstate communist ny, and cant buy it online..any suggestions
I'm thinking there are two options. (I'm not a professional. I just watch a lot of UA-cam and work on my own lawn) Option 1: kill your common and plant the hybrid seed. Option 2: Over seed the hybrid. The hybrid likes to be cut lower than common so hopefully by playing to the hybrids strength, it will eventually overpower the common. You'll always have a mix of the two grass and results will be very slow.
I seeded my back yard about the 6th of April still not seeing a rapid growth going on. Found out my nitrogen was non existent so I bought 20-0-6 and put it down not sure if this will fix my problem. Just losing my mind at this point with this lawn.
Not sure where you live, but bermuda seed won't sprout until the ground temperature is in the 80s. I'm in NC and we're not there yet. However, I've seen some university studies that show the seed will eventually come up when the soil gets warm enough, even if you put it down months ago.
You did not put a link in the comments where to go to get the top notch Bermuda seed you mentioned. Please add the link or something to show us where to get the seed.
Yes he said it in the video. Take sand and a bag of black kow or other compost mix and add humichar in a wheel barrel mix it all up and you have the perfect growing mix! 60/40 sand to compost
Doc, I recently (June 3) seeded Yukon and have about 70% coverage after germination and growth. Can I put out more seed and top dress with sand? Or is it to soon to top dress?
Great vid Doc. Ive got some Bermuda seed you recommended left over from last year stored in my garage over the winter. You think its still good? Im also trying to train some Bermuda grass down lower by cutting it to about 3/4 to 7/8 inch. I know its a hybrid because it wont seed out when left to grow like the front half of my yard that has plain old non hybrid Bermuda. Thing is cutting to the above listed height Im getting down into the husk of the grass stems and it gives me that brownish tan look. I did this process last year to another area in the yard and its staying low and green. With your experience how long do you think it may take me to get this new area lower without killing it by cutting into the base husk? Just FYI I live about 1 1/2 hours south of you near Warner Robins GA.
Cool video Doc, lots of love in that area!! My question concerns sand and heat. You mentioned in an earlier video about leveling with a mix and not sand because of excess heat with sand and how Bermuda may run from the hot area. Could you elaborate on that? TY!!
I'm considering sodding rather than seeding a large (15'x50') area. First, is that the route you'd go? Second, how would you recommend preparing the soil before laying the sod - humichar, super juice, etc.?
Hey Doc, I planted my lawn from seed 3 years ago with Yukon Bermuda. I know you’ve mentioned that the seed heads on the lawn are sterile, is that true for ones planted from seed also or just from sod? Also, I like your leveling mix . Here in Chattanooga my two choices for organic material to mix with sand is screened topsoil which still has a fair amount of clay, or mushroom compost. I don’t even know what mushroom compost is, which one would be better for my leveling mix?
Hey doc, need some advice. I planted Bermuda seed about three weeks ago. I have good results so far but now I’m having issues with poa and dallis grass. When can I start treating the weeds without hurting my new grass?
Hi Doc! We love your videos and so have decided to do a top dressing on our lawn. However the company we hired to do it (GreenScapes) provides a mix of 90% sand and 10% peat moss, not the percentages that you recomended. Do you this this would be ok if we add all the other products after (Humichar, chicken feed, pgf complete and super juice)? Thanks!
Why in the hell would you want to plant Bermuda grass? That is a weed. I had it growing in my grass and it infiltrated 1/4 of the yard. I just ended up using roundup on the whole yard, tilling it, round up again and tilling it. I did that 3 times to make sure all the Bermuda grass was dead. It has been three years and no sign of that weed as came back. That crap is evasive as hell.

Hi Doc, What Bermuda seed are you using on the putting and what kind of Bermuda do you have on the rest of your lawn? Thanks
Doc, just so I am clear. After using a dethatcher, put down humichar, pgf-c, and the new seed. Then water.
I have fescue but it’s mostly gone. Should I use grass kill and remove remaining vegetation before seeding with Bermuda?
You’re the man, I mean the Doc! Good info, thank you for sharing.
when to plant Bermuda grass and when not to plant or sow Bermuda grass?
I was not aware that you shouldn’t put down weed killer or pre emergent on new sod. That’s probably why my lawn is so thin. Did it last year. This is year 2 on my lawn. So how can I improve the thickness of the sod.
Looking forward to seeing the finished product Doc! Thank you for the videos
Hi doc. The products you recommend, I use them all, my lawn is so green and healthy, thanks...
Could the white sand heat up the ground faster and dry out the seed? And would putting down a peat moss be better?
Hey Doc, why did you rake it again after flattening/pressing it?
Your dog was the star of the video. So chubby but thats how you can tell a dog has a good life ahaha
What variety of seed did you use on the putting green
Please use a Levelawn rake.. you’ll get so much better results as far as leaving goes..
What blends of bermuda seeds did you plant ?
Can you use humichar with topsoil instead of aerating the ground and spread the mix on bbn the hard ground
On your improve lawn soil. What it yo aerate before u apply. Would that help
Doc, where is the best place to find the leveling/rooting mixture?
Doc, What do you recommend what kind of seeds I want to put a putting green like you and green like you in upstate New York look at Yukon Bermuda seed?
Nothing will create real DWARF like I say in the video. I put down both Yukon and Black jack
How To with Doc , thank you again
What do i need to do in Tennessee in September i am going to spray for weeds within the next week . I'll have to wait to seed about a month right?? I know October is to late to seed but what should i do until seeding season.
where can you get the leveling mix?

Richie Martel Zero a pellet rifle and plug it behind the ear..
Doc, I have a Chilly Verde strand. Have you got any advice on this seed?
I forgot i used to work in a nusery burmada grass is very good drought torant and it stay low as well
Lookin good doc, thanks for showing the process
why is the website on your description blocked for Europe...?
Right now in August in North Texas it's 90+ every day. Can I try planting Bermuda now? I imagine if I water it, it will germinate before the first frost in November? The go dormant through the winter?
What is the last month you can plant bermuda seeds?
Can you plant anything during the fall
What if I put tenacity down? Will that prevent growth?
Doc! You're the man! I've learned a lot from you in a short amount of time. Thank you pal!
Homedepot lady got me to buy #60 of common Bermuda seed...After seeding, I found this. Doh!
What is ryegrass and can bermuda be reseed with it?
How about the scotts bermuda seed?what kind of bermuda is that?.thanks Doc.
Common .... if it's sold in the big box stores it's common.
I can't seem to find that type of mixture in my area. Guess I will have to just buy clean sand and potting mix/compost and mix it myself
What you think about bluegrass??
After planting the seed is it okay to have dogs walk on the area you put seed in? I have three medium sized dogs.
What are your thoughts with using scotts turf builder for seeding? I'm planting bermuda in a few weeks when soil temps are consistently above 55 degrees and I'm wanting to put this lawn food down that claims to act as a pre emergent for crab grass but won't affect the germination of the bermuda

Love the videos doc. Keep up the great content.
If I already have a lawn of the "gnarly cheap Bermuda" then what is the best way to convert to the finer grade?
I'm thinking there are two options. (I'm not a professional. I just watch a lot of UA-cam and work on my own lawn)

Option 2: Over seed the hybrid. The hybrid likes to be cut lower than common so hopefully by playing to the hybrids strength, it will eventually overpower the common. You'll always have a mix of the two grass and results will be very slow.
So you put the leveling mix over the germinated seeds? I already planted mine, but they haven't germinated yet. Should I wait?
Thanks! I need help with my lawn. Do you do consulting or something like that?
Thoughts on Yukon Bermuda?

@How To With Doc, what are you using for the soil in your mix?
Has anyone used Hancocks Highlander turf type bermuda?
You did not put a link in the comments where to go to get the top notch Bermuda seed you mentioned. Please add the link or something to show us where to get the seed.
It's there...
Doc, is that Phil Keaggy background music while you were spreading the leveling mix?
How you gonna cut it at 1/8"???
ua-cam.com/video/QMgODJGBTYc/v-deo.html
I wish you would explain how to seed like 1 acre... not these tiny areas
Hey doc, would you recommend adding humichar and arganic material to soil prior to seeind a new lawn? Thanks
Yes he said it in the video. Take sand and a bag of black kow or other compost mix and add humichar in a wheel barrel mix it all up and you have the perfect growing mix! 60/40 sand to compost
Nice enjoyed that
Doc, I recently (June 3) seeded Yukon and have about 70% coverage after germination and growth. Can I put out more seed and top dress with sand? Or is it to soon to top dress?
I might let it be for a bit........ establish some... then do it.
How To with Doc Thanks!
Does Bermuda sod die?

where can I buy superior Bermuda Grass seeds?
Your links to the seeds are all wrong it takes you to a page that is like a regular Bermuda seed search
Thanks Doc!

Hey doc, need some advice. I planted Bermuda seed about three weeks ago. I have good results so far but now I’m having issues with poa and dallis grass. When can I start treating the weeds without hurting my new grass?
You really need to leave it alone for a few months and just live with it. Don't start treating YOUNG Bermuda too early.
Excellent video thanks

Yes, it's fine. If you have any DEEP areas just top dress with potting soil. REALLY deep areas I mean.
Awesome content, keep up the great videos. Very informative.
Going to be nice and likely filled with Titleist Pro V1 ball marks!
Thought you got rid of the Greensmaster mower from McLane. That would be perfect for that project.
How many pounds of Bermuda for 800- 1000 sq ft?
1-2 lbs per 1000 sq ft
Dannnng this guy is good!🤔🤔✌🏽
Bet it's gonna look great and rolling will have the ole back sore lol.
What kind of seed is this?
Why didn't you kill the existing grass?
No straw on top of the dirt
golf course greens require lots of work.
