Hey Jack. Thanks for your videos. I developed my (incomplete) spinal cord injury as a complication from radiation therapy to treat a brain and spinal cord tumour here in Canada. My Condo has a spacious Hytec Accessible Shower that has a foldout seat. It was installed in one large piece. Actually, when my condo was being built, the developer had to take the front window out in order to bring in the shower.
I must agree with you. Frequently on campus, individuals who don't need an accessible continue to occupy it.

    hey
    Thanks for this video Jack
You are lucky to have plenty of room in your house to build this shower and toilet for the disabled. I have less room, but I still managed to put a seat in my shower and bars in the bathroom. By cons I have little room to move my chair and I have to go backwards

Thanks for sharing this. I'll be remodeling my bathroom and planning for the future (old age) and this video is very helpful. Thanks.

There was a sketch on SNL where the bear has to use the bathroom. The two normal stalls are occupied, he goes into the handicapped stall because it's all that's left. The other two leave, a bear in a wheelchair comes in, and angrily tries to get into a small stall while the able-bodied bear tries to escape the handicapped stall. That's always my worst nightmare in public restrooms. I have used disabled stalls when nothing else was available, but no incidents.

I've been watching a lot o George to the Rescue video's and I could not see how the wheel chair recipients used the shower without having some kind of chair and bars to use. I guess they must add it later after the reveal to get the hand rails the right height and the recipient has the option to choose curtains or benches for bathing etc. Now I know. Thank you.

@@JackInAction Hi Jack, how are you doing? Another interesting video. It’s good to get access to your wheelchair to transfer to your bathroom and toilet. That is very helpful to move around the body around the edge. Nice stable bar to grab onto the shower. Very good transfer to get to the edge of the chair and move onto the chair, swing around the bar. Easy to get lifted up. Very good transfer to the bathroom. Kind regards, from, PaulLaw.

Nice PSA. People don't realize we actually need to use the bigger stall. This happens all the time for me.

Dan one time I was waiting to use the accessible stall and in the meantime, this guy used the regular stall and then he came out. He then said, “Woah, are you still waiting for that stall?” Yeah. “Man, I’m sorry.” Then eventually the person came out of the accessible stall.
Also, people who have to use the accessible stall typically need to use them right away depending on the way their body functions compared to someone who is able bodied.

I don't usually have to wait too long but it's still slightly annoying that people don't realize there are people that actually NEED the bigger stall.
