The base game does this in one of the smaller caves/dungeons in Limgrave, actually.
Especially because they can eat their own limb to regenerate
It's also fitting that Astel is the final boss because Astel and the Elden Beast are technically the same type of creature, they even use similar moves

The godsquid trio is unbeatable.
So, about the big land octopus healing, those things will eat their own tentacles when damaged (if the tentacles aren't severed first) and heal themselves. The Godskin duo didn't heal it.
Some of the boss entrances looked so cool with the fog. Also, fire giant was terrifying
I'm so happy to see other people mentioning it because it honestly can't be said enough how good the editing on this video is. the gargantuan effort of sorting through and cutting up so many hours of stream into a very tight, entertaining video that feels paced perfectly is just beyond impressive

You know whats funny is that in silent hill 1 there is a heavy fog and it is snowing. But people often mistake it for ash because of the movies, despite multiple people in SH1 saying its snow and the creator saying its snow.

The only way you could possibly make this worse is if you respawned at a random grace in near(ish) vicinity every time you die to make it even harder to know where you are.
he can still warp between graces, that would just needlessly create double loads unless he implemented extra rules pertaining to respawns, which in turn would make boss deaths needlessly more punishing than they sometimes already are

Malenia, Maliketh and then the Godskin duo protecting the erdtree is kind of fitting
And then in the erdtree there is the leonine misbegotten, maybe they mistook him for radagon as they do share the hair
Have you ever thought about randomizing the controls? Movement is done by camera stick, but rotated by a random degree. Camera is inverted and on movement stick. All other buttons are randomly assigned. For a bigger challenge randomize buttons again after each great rune (or maybe death/respec), so you can't get used to the new controls.
I'm not even finished watching yet but I really wanted to let you know that I absolutely love the editing in this video! Keep it up.

I laughed out loud when you got the full Haligtree medallion.
The lore of this run is that Godfrey lost the war against the fire giants and was punished for his failures by being demoted to Lord of Stormveil. The fire giants came down from the mountaintop and brought the chill of the snow fields with them, and that's also why fire giants are just all fucking over the place.
This is how it feels like when you are entering Caelid for the first time.

Yaknow having Estel as the final boss is surprisingly fitting as a final boss, especially in the randomizer, since it’s difficult, ominous as hell in the fog, *and* sticks with the celestial starry theme that the Elden Beast has goin for it, just in a more horrific style
Astel is actually of the same sort of ilk of the Elden Beast, so like-
