Jose Rizal (pronounce Reezal' and not Rye'zal) was a doctor (Opthalmologist), a polymath and a polyglot. He has numerous monuments and memorials both here and abroad including in London at the Beckett family residence where he stayed on his trip there. If you go to Rizal Park, you will see the Rizal Monument which has his skeletal remains beneath it and is guarded continuously by the Philippine Marines Corp. He was actually executed there in 1896 by firing squad by the Spanish for the crime of rebellion. While he was not directly involved in the Philippine Revolution against Spain, his novels Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo are often cited as part of the inspiration for the revolution. In Fort Santiago in Intramuros, there's a Rizal Shrine where you can see some of his clothing and learn more about him. And they even have on display his bullet-struck vertebra. His life was actually quite fascinating. Very popular with the ladies too, hehe. And he actually married a woman of Irish descent, Josephine Bracken. His novels are quite controversial too. Spoiler: the most controversial part of the novel is when we learn that Maria Clara's father was actually Father Damaso, a priest. Maybe try watching the movie Jose Rizal starring Cesar Montano if you have time. :)
There’s a lot of flight delays in Manila because there is only one runway at the Manila airport. They are building a new airport in Bulacan which should make things better.
New subscriber here from Germany, thanks for showing me the beauty of Intramuros n can’t wait the next videos in the beautiful Island of Visaya.God bless n enjoy😊
Happy and lovely family!..enjoy and have fun in the Philippines!..Eleise has a pair of tantalizing eyes...reminds me so much of my favorite Hollywood actress...Natalie Wood...
Translations for timestamp 08:41 "Doon ako sa..." I'm bound for.. "Linya nila mahaba masyado. That line is unusually long" "Siyempre iniingatan ko pasahero" Definitely, I need to take care of my passengers
You're welcome but I will not be able to translate when you go to cebu because they speak a different language which is bisaya and different from tagalog. Unless that speak tagalog. Tagalog is our national language so it is understood everywhere in the Philippines. Just call out again in your video and pretty sure somebody from cebu will translate it for you. Don't be afraid to ask Filipinos for help we actually like it if we able to help visitors. Enjoy guys and keep safe 🙏 ❤
No worries… bisaya here currently watching them as they are bound to visit my beloved province BEHOLD BOHOL… Enjoy your stay! Dont hesitate to ask locals but be wise too not to get taken advantage as a foreign visitor specially when it comes to fare/fee.. more of that Filipinos are overall friendly🥰
I was gonna suggest go north to Baguio city cause Panagbenga (flower festival) is happening right now. And the weather up north is really good compare to the islands this time of the year
I really enjoy your family Travels. I was in H20 Hotel and did the whole Manila Ocean Park thing. I ate at Makan Makan restaurant lot. My fiancee really loved the Aquarium room.
Hello happy couple enjoy explore port Santiago the hestory of the port Santiago welcom to cebu.enjoy your vacation moal boal.its more fun in the Philippines hello baby cute god bless stay safe
03:21 - "Joe-zay Rai-zal" (Jose Rizal) is actually pronounced "Ho - seh Rih-zal". In Spanish, the letter "J" sounds like an "H" and many Filipinos have Spanish names. Also, Filipino parents kept using Spanish names for their children even during the time the US colonized the Philippines.
It's a traffic enforcer who stop your taxi, because the taxi went to the wrong lane, supposed to be for the truck lane that's why he stop your taxi, keep safe Godbless
@@parttimetravellingfamily well depends, since your driver argued instead of just surrendering his license it took longer. Your driver based on the conversation knew he went thru the wrong lane and still tried to argue his way out of the ticket. If your driver surrendered his license it could have been done faster maybe max of 5mins. I think it's normal even in the US that if you argue with the traffic enforcer (not police) then it will ofcourse take more time. ps: i think it would be better to update your thumbnail.. change it to traffic enforcer instead of police. They are not the same here and they could actually get into trouble (go to jail) if they prentend to be police.
@@parttimetravellingfamily Yes, because the driver keeps on reasoning to the enforcer, sometimes it takes more than that to prove the allegations, at the end the taxi driver can't do anything so better give your license or ask for sorry to the endorser for consideration
Salamat - Thank you Kumusta = How are you Maganda Umaga = Good morning Magandang Gabi = Good evening Po = can be added after any words, it's usually used when you are talking to a elder
Po is just a word that Filipinos add at the end of their sentence to show respect to the person they are talking to. Sometimes they use mam (madame) sir, kuya (brother) or ate (sister) instead of po.
Translation: " Sir, I went there (lane) because a truck might hit me. Enforcer: "You drove in a truck lane so..... " Driver: ... I'll renew it sir, it's going to be due ( License). Enforcer: Yeah I know.. and you're carrying a passenger (he's thinking about you).

Limited infrastructures? Metro manila got countless elevated freeways, flyovers, tollways etc.. naia expressway is elevated that connect to the main airports to all cities within metro manila..in fact metro manila is saturated with flyovers, elevated freeways, elevated tollways etc..roads condition are excellent and smooth everywhere no potholes even in provincial areas. unlike in india hence travel to from the airport is fast and easy no traffic coz it's elevated ( naia airport expressway- so going to the airport is fast and easy)....edsa is a free highway so it's a bit traffic however if anyone want to speed up mobility then just take an elevated tollways with a fee. Not much traffic in manila now a days due to much improved public transport infrastructures and roadways...do some research before you made an official statements on your caption..coz it's very MISLEADING. Certainly it's a copy paste from some random websites with fake details
the horse carriage drivers scene is pretty funny. they being Karens filipino male version. swearing and stuff 😂 surprised those drivers haven't gone viral yet
I remember being pulled over on the same situation, drove to a truck lane; I only did the because i was lost and a so a police office to ask for directions going to BGC. Instead I was do not go to the truck lane or I will give you a ticket anyways it work out after i gave him P200 pesos then the gave me directions LOL...
2:00 3 millions india soldiers were taken against their will by Hitler equivalent= Winston Churchill, to fight world war 2 which was not even our war. And sucked every mineral and metal from india to fuel the British army Against Soviet Union. Urgh.
The lucky part of catching a flight late is.. the plane is most likely still there (when has a plane taken off early? 😂) Manila and Cebu City has insane traffic, the infrastructure just isn't there.
Driver: "Sir, I will be trapped if I use the truck lane because it's too long. I avoided the truck lane. It was too long" Traffic Enforcer: "You entered the traffic" (perhaps something is expired) Driver: "It will be renewed soon" Traffic Enforcer: "You should be careful, you have passengers" Driver: "I agree" Those girl students said "gwapo" means "handsome" 😃 The guys shouting at each other are throwing profanity which is very common in Metro Manila but very rare in the Visayas and Mindanao.
Kamusta ka ---- po. Kamusta ka means "How are you?" Filipinos add po at the end as a sign of respect. So you will here po a lot at the end of a sentence.
