I have a 12" Craftsman lathe and I had a pair of half nuts that I had purchased new in the 1970's and I installed them a couple of years ago. I wish now that I had purchased maybe 3 sets or so.
This set came from a lathe that was given to me by a friend. It had been stored in a basement for many years and was very rusty. It was not really a candidate for restoration so I have been using it for spare parts. I just purchased a 10" Atlas lathe so that will be showing up in near future videos. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@Pagweldfab I think that the 10" is in good shape. I am going to set it up and use it. I am sure that there will be some repairs and up-grades in the future. I will be doing videos on the set up, repair, and use. Thanks for stopping by.
On Ebay there is a store selling brass half nuts for the Atlas 618 / Craftsman 101 lathes. There are 2 sizes and he has both but the set is $85.00 shipped. I got a set and they are worth the money.
Hi Steve, I could see the interference as you were assembling, and I was thinking, if you watched the video first then assembled it you would know, ha-ha! Any ways, that is one sweet little lathe and the maintenance videos are always entertaining to us "armchair" comrades. Cheers and have a nice day!
I saw it as it happened so as soon as the interference reared its ugly head I knew exactly what the problem was. Thanks for watching and keeping me honest.
Quick and easy. Only if every shop project was so agreeable. Thanks for sharing.
You have to win one once in a while.
That lathe is a little cutie! Glad it is working better now.
This little lathe has attitude, I thinks That it is bigger than it is. Thanks for watching.
Thanks Steve. I’m changing mine out tomorrow. I just received them in the mail this afternoon.
Hope that this was helpful. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@sharkrivermachine yep. Went easily. I also changed out my cross slide nut.
@@MotoRestoFL That is one of the things that I like about the Atlas lathes. They are relatively easy to work on and most parts are available.
Hey hi Steve, maintenance is very important.
That Atlas sure has a nice chip tray. Good job and have a great weekend.

My son is in the food service industry and he was given an assortment of these heavy stainless pans. This one fit perfect. Thanks for stopping by.

@@sharkrivermachine Are you restoring or repairing the 10"? I have a 10" Atlas TH42 with a QCGB so I will be tuning in to your channel.

Nicely done. Reworking the worn out half nut assembly to use replaceable brass 'jaws' might make a nice little video project?
That would be a project for sure. Now you have me thinking. Thanks for stopping by.
coming back to watch this. this week got a bit hectic.
Thanks for coming back.
