UK weather: Snow falls in South East and London as new ice warnings put in place

- Snow has fallen across London and the South East, as forecasters issued a new ice warning to cover southern England and Wales.
Flurries followed a Met Office warning on Sunday that snow and ice could cause travel disruption on Monday. The Met Office said it was too early to say how much snow had fallen.
It comes after forecasters issued a new yellow warning for ice across southern England and South Wales, which will last from 3pm on Monday to 3am on Tuesday.
The Met Office said temperatures were not likely to be higher than 3C and that it could feel more like -3C because of the windy weather.

Yes this is snow. Not a lot of snow but it is snow. Please remember Canadian people will start laughing at us if we start panicking. Norwegians are already sniggering and the only sounds from Finland are heavy metal and derisive laughter.

Modern trains are too light to get decent traction on rails the way heavy steam trains did so they slip on compacted leaves which act like a Teflon coating & can't keep up consistent speed.
We've exchanged allegedly faster trains for the comparative reliability of heavier stock.
What's so nice aboit having snow? Sure it looks nice. But it causes mayhem om the roads, people fall over and injure themselves, further straining the nhs and emergency services. Lets face it, snow is a pain.

What a surprise! They talk about snowfall as if it’s never been seen before. They bang on and issue “Severe” Weather Warnings, just because it’s cold outside. For their information: It’s called WINTER. And, it does it Every Year! At our Latitudes, between 50 - 60 Degrees North, It gets Cold in the winter and Hot in the Summer. There’s nothing unusual about any of it!

How did I survive the 1960's and 70's with snow, frost and the inside of bedroom windows with frost patterns. One coal fire, burning face and freezing back but what great toast.
