I used to live in Charleston and I loved it. I truly miss living there, and my husband and I would like to retire there at some point. It's like a huge treasure hunt...just when you think you've discovered everything to find there, you learn there's more to see. I'm glad you enjoyed your visit!
Michel, you have inspired me to do solo trips. After ending a 30 year marriage, I was nervous to go on trips by myself. So, I have learned to channel my “inner Michel” and get out there and explore. Life is too short not to travel and learn new things!
What kind of research do you do when planning for your trips? How do you decide where to go and what to do? I feel like you and Jordy would love going back to Charleston together sometime. You could even do a private sailboat tour there.
Just wanted to pop in and say my wife and I have been watching you for such a long time and we absolutely LOVE your videos and watching your journey. We're so happy to finally see you happy, you deserve absolutely nothing less. My name's Delaney so when you said it, it kind of made me feel prompted to comment lol. Grateful to have the privilege to continue to watch your growth.
i adore your solo trip vlogs, so informative. Michel, you should do a travel vlog series for a TV channel, you're so good at it, love your content so so much!! 💚
Michel you should do some short walking tours that will talk a little about the history of the city/culture and you might meet some other travelers, it’s always more fun when you meet others. Museums are also fun. I used to to take solo trips before getting married and have great memories.
Love your solo trip blogs. I’m considering taking one but don’t know where to start. Have you thought of doing a video dedicated to the ins and outs of solo traveling? Like what sites you use, hotels, do you use a travel agent etc… Thank you!
I highly recommend renting a car when you visit again. That way you can Island hop! Sullivan's Island is so beautiful for going to the beach. Also, Kiawah is a bit farther but it's sooo beautiful there!! If you go back to Mt. Pleasant the Shem Creek area is great for dinner and there's a nice board walk to see the sunset!
That match book art print is fabulous. I collect match books when I travel but they're hard to find. This was a fun vlog. I love your solo trips. Great footage.
I lived in Charleston when I was in my 20s (before my celiac diagnosis) and loved it so much! Good to see there are so many gluten-free options now if I ever go back to visit!
Watching this video brings a smile to my face. I’ve been to Charleston almost two years ago and it was one of the best trips of my life. Also enjoyed your Quince haul. I actually bought the same cashmere sweater cardigan, but in their cropped version a few weeks ago before watching your video. 😅❤
I was so excited to see Charleston on your list of places to travel!!! My husband and I go there often for work. I sure wish I could've seen you there💜 You just didn't have enough time to explore. We are still finding new places and seeing things we have never seen before when going there. I hope you enjoyed it💜💜
Watching now so I'm not finished so you may get to this but the baskets they were referencing were sweet grass baskets. They're an incredibly beautiful art form that's common here. I highly recommend reading about the Gullah geechie culture in Charleston and surrounding areas! 😊
You look like you know what to do with yourself by yourself sometimes and really like the privacy which excites you more because you can be that unusual you that I'm sure others wish they knew about and white looks good when you wear it.
No way!!!! You were in Charleston!?!? I grew up here 🤍Girl!!!! I would love to meet you! I’ve loved following your journey for years🤍🤍🤍 I hope you had the best time!
I LOVE that cardigan Michel, are you able to share what size you got it in? Wondering whether I should get my true size or one size up as I love the oversized look going on here! Love your travel vlogs
Charleston is amazing and worth car rental if you stay in mt pleasant and just drive into downtown, has plenty parking. That way you can do the gardens and beach towns as well as downtown. I was just at Ryder hotel, killed the afternoon at little palm. I live in NYC now, moved from LA a year and a half ago. Glad you had a nice trip!😊
Great vlog of your solo trip to Charleston which is such a beautiful city, very walkable with great food 🥘 Glad you had such a nice visit ❤ Safe travels to NYC✈️‼️
You said you went to Mount Pleasant and my brain went WHAT?! I realized instantly that you were in Mt P, SC but I live right near and work in Mount Pleasant, MI, haha. Love your vlogs!!! 💕
I’m so happy you enjoyed Charleston! If you do make it back upper king is the more trendy spots (and my favorite donut shop everywhere), and the Francis Marion hotel was where my wedding reception was. Also in my opinion park circle is more walkable and fun than mount pleasant if you want to get off the peninsula. There’s also downtown Summerville if you want to get off the beaten path about 45 minutes that looks more quaint but super cute.
Meade is extremely sweet by the way. It tastes basically like liquid honey. I’ve had a lot of meade in my life and sometimes they make meade that is mixed with fruits and it takes the edge off of the sweetness.
I am so proud of all your solo trips. I could be your mother. In fact my daughter is 2 months younger than you are, and I have never once taken a solo trip in my life! I was with my late husband since our teen years so never went anywhere without him. I still have kids in high school, but maybe after they graduate.
When my husband and I went to Charleston we rented a car so we could drive to the beach and the only one they had was a Ford F150…. Now imagine THAT on lil Charleston roads 🙃
so beautiful!! i subscribed to your channel a few days ago and i just wanted to say that I love watching all of your videos! you are one of my favorite UA-camrs!! you’re the best and I hope you have a great day!🩷🩷
Those clothes from Quince look great on you! They really suit your body shape which gives me hope because I am also a pear-shaped girlie! Loved the video and also always love a solo trip! Always appreciate the tips you give for travel as well. ❤
I’ve only been to Charleston once but loved it & hope to go back. I know it’s very touristy things but you would love the Battery & the harbor tour. They are both memorable for me.
Love you're vlogs but this had me a bit confused timeline wised cause i watch videos back to back and you had already travelled nashwille in the last one😅
I was born and raised in Mt. Pleasant and went to the College of Charleston/MUSC. It’s so weird to see you exploring my hometown and the city I lived in for 8 years. Glad you enjoyed it!

Hey Michel. I love your travel vlogs. Loved the Charleston Vlog. Charleston is one of my favorite places in SC, not too far from where I live. There are so many things to do. In May, there is a huge art festival called Spoleto that displays both visual and performing arts. There are a lot of historical areas in the area to visit as well, like Patriot Park, Fort Sumter, Fort Moultrie, the first shot of the Civil War was at Paris Island, not too far from Charleston. There is also a group of people that come from the Gulla culture of SC that sell beautiful sweet grass baskets around Charleston. Not only do the make decorative baskets, but they also make art pieces like flowers and crosses out of the sweet grass. There are tons of things to do. Glad you enjoyed your visit to SC. 🙂
Charleston is my favorite place to visit! ❤ Next time you go, you need to take a horse drawn carriage ride or a guided walking tour of the city to get all the history of Charleston.
Please don’t take a horse-drawn carriage. Most of those horses are worked to within an inch of their lives then slaughtered. A minuscule number get rescued. 😢
So glad you showed Charleston. I moved to SC about 1 1/2 years ago. Haven't done Charleston yet. We did hop on a cruise ship there in February for our Anniversary.
