They are a team of the best people in their fields. First of all, two people who majored in classical training graduated from Seoul National University's vocal department and graduate school. Two of them all won the best classical competitions in Korea, which means they have the best skills in classical music. There's something that Cho Mingyu said to Ko Woo-rim in the Phantom Singer competition' We need a new voice because we have similar classical voices. Kang Hyung-ho and Bae Doo-hoon, who have rock and popy vocalizations, were selected by Cho & Ko and became the current Forrestella. They can produce a wide range of sounds, and can perform various genres of music such as rock, musical, pop, as well as classical music. People who are already prepared. I look forward to their performance on the world stage

ㅋㅋ I could tell by the expression on your face just how much this Forestella version of the song effected you. I am sorry to tell you but I kind of laughed after seeing the telltale sign of someone who literally stopped breathing from listening to this particular song. Anyway, the only other thing I can say is that you at least didn’t burst out in tears the way I have had even after hearing these fabulous four and that, sir, is an amazing feat in itself I tell you. lol As for your next Forestella project I strongly recommend “Lazenca, Save Us.” because this time you will experience different kind of breathless moment from the sheer impact of the song and the performance itself. BTW, the song lyrics of the original “Hijo De La Luna” is quite different from what you just have heard so be sure to look up the Forestella’s version of the song. It’s poetic lyrics that exude a little different connotation would pleasantly surprise you. (Mind you though, the Korean lyrics is a bit different from the English version, however, it’s close enough to be able to still delivers the message…) And lastly, welcome to the Forestella rabbit hole, which I would think is quite different from your regular BTS size hole, sir. =n_n=
This is SUCH a lovely surprise! I love this group so much. And their version of "Hijo de la Luna" is still one of my all-time favorites. Other people I'm sure have mentioned a bunch of recommendations (Bohemian Rhapsody is obviously a must, as are Nella Fantasia and My Favorite Things among so many others), but if you want to see their range, one that's completely different from this but still phenomenal is their cover of Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You." It's SUCH a different vibe, obviously, but they kill the pop songs just as fully as the more operatic ones.

This is old time beautiful song! The song talks about the moon who wants to be a mother, but can’t find a love to have with. She finds her love or ( querer) is a different way to call a lover that you not in love but love him for what he did. She gets pregnant with the baby she really have dream for. She gives birth to a kid that is Alvino, she was in love with him, but the man wasn’t. He kills her and puts the baby in the train tracks. The story end here, this is the story of how alvinos came into being. I imagine the baby didn’t die. I love this song and was obsessed with it when I was in college, it has been years that I had not heard it. The other day a singer from Argentina in one of her old videos is singing this song and it came all back, tears came down my face and a week later you come up with this song by this amazing group of guys that make me cry again with their beautiful voices. Thanks, a people tell me that I’m a child of the mood because I’m cancer and I’m really moody! Sorry
Bohemian Rhapsody has been covered hundreds of groups. IMO, Forestella's cover is one of the very best (even better than Pentatonix's version. Each singer is different from the other, which is why they bring something different to the table; together they are incredible.

Here goes my long long info text I always post in the comment section under first time reaction to them. This is Forestella, a crossover group from Korea. They are the winner group in the Phantom Singer 2; a survival audition show to form a crossover quartet like il Divo from Korea. However as they have their own unique style, they won't be Korean il Divo, they will be the Forestella of the world! Forestella has sung great covers like Bohemian Rhapsody, We are the Champions, Heal the World, the Sound of Silence, My Favorite Things, Champions (mash-up of Champs league theme and Champions by Jo SuMi), Nella Fantasia, Scarborough Fair..etc etc. At the Phantom Singer All Stars they sang Time in a bottle, Je suis Malade as well. Shape of You in English, Spanish and African Zulu is fantastic indeed. You can even see them dancing singing Smooth Criminal as well! And they broke the record of their own with Lazenca Save Us winning 4 trophies for King of Kings in a row in Immortal Songs 2! Forestella is a quartet of Ko WooRim (classical bass, intense abyss-deep low tone), Kang HyungHo (ex-research chemist & rock vocalist with soprano falsetto voice), Cho MinGyu (classical leggiero tenor, light boyish crystal clear tone) and Bae DooHoon (musical actor, one of the semi-finalists from Voice Korea 2, rough-textured husky tone with R&B, Pop groove). Each has distinct tone and style of singing, different charm. But all of them are famous as practice-freaks. They signed to a new label last year (the same label as the kpop group ACE) and are started to get more active with international promotions- they even recently performed at kpop festival in Dubai. Yes! Forestella is one of the best vocal groups out there! Their harmonies are insane! They are under the label, Beat Interactive, which also houses A.C.E. I know I've been asking you to react to their hit, Under Cover, but seeing how much you love the harmonies of Forestella, I want to change my recommendation to A.C.E's cover of Someone You Loved (with Chan, Jun, and Donghun). I hope you'll watch it, even if you don't react, even if you think you know the song already. A.C.E makes the song their own and the harmonies at the end still give me goosebumps every time I hear it. There is a reason Forestella joined this small label. One of my favorite new Christmas songs is a Beat Interactive Team Collaboration, Christmas Time by A.C.E (with Chan, Jun and Byeongkwan), Forestella, and SHY. I 'discovered' them just a couple of days ago. Very late to the FORESTELLA 'Party' too! But reaction just like yours. Binge watching ever since. Still learning about each singer. Apparently they were brought together through a Vocal Competition & what a great synergy they have. Absolute genius - whoever orchestrated that. Each spectacular in their own right. So... two have classical voice training, one came from a musical theatre background & the fourth had no formal vocal training whatsoever and was working as an industrial chemist! * Without looking it up - can you guess which singer that 4th one is? I was totally gobsmacked !!! 😃👋👋👋

I am sorry to tell you but I kind of laughed after seeing the telltale sign of someone who literally stopped breathing from listening to this particular song.
Anyway, the only other thing I can say is that you at least didn’t burst out in tears the way I have had even after hearing these fabulous four and that, sir, is an amazing feat in itself I tell you. lol
As for your next Forestella project I strongly recommend “Lazenca, Save Us.” because this time you will experience different kind of breathless moment from the sheer impact of the song and the performance itself.
BTW, the song lyrics of the original “Hijo De La Luna” is quite different from what you just have heard so be sure to look up the Forestella’s version of the song.
It’s poetic lyrics that exude a little different connotation would pleasantly surprise you. (Mind you though, the Korean lyrics is a bit different from the English version, however, it’s close enough to be able to still delivers the message…)

This is SUCH a lovely surprise! I love this group so much. And their version of "Hijo de la Luna" is still one of my all-time favorites. Other people I'm sure have mentioned a bunch of recommendations (Bohemian Rhapsody is obviously a must, as are Nella Fantasia and My Favorite Things among so many others), but if you want to see their range, one that's completely different from this but still phenomenal is their cover of Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You." It's SUCH a different vibe, obviously, but they kill the pop songs just as fully as the more operatic ones.
Huge fan of the original so more than happy to check out their version of it ❤️

This is old time beautiful song! The song talks about the moon who wants to be a mother, but can’t find a love to have with. She finds her love or ( querer) is a different way to call a lover that you not in love but love him for what he did.
She gets pregnant with the baby she really have dream for. She gives birth to a kid that is Alvino, she was in love with him, but the man wasn’t. He kills her and puts the baby in the train tracks.
The story end here, this is the story of how alvinos came into being. I imagine the baby didn’t die. I love this song and was obsessed with it when I was in college, it has been years that I had not heard it. The other day a singer from Argentina in one of her old videos is singing this song and it came all back, tears came down my face and a week later you come up with this song by this amazing group of guys that make me cry again with their beautiful voices.

Bohemian Rhapsody has been covered hundreds of groups. IMO, Forestella's cover is one of the very best (even better than Pentatonix's version. Each singer is different from the other, which is why they bring something different to the table; together they are incredible.

This is Forestella, a crossover group from Korea. They are the winner group in the Phantom Singer 2; a survival audition show to form a crossover quartet like il Divo from Korea. However as they have their own unique style, they won't be Korean il Divo, they will be the Forestella of the world!
Forestella has sung great covers like Bohemian Rhapsody, We are the Champions, Heal the World, the Sound of Silence, My Favorite Things, Champions (mash-up of Champs league theme and Champions by Jo SuMi), Nella Fantasia, Scarborough Fair..etc etc. At the Phantom Singer All Stars they sang Time in a bottle, Je suis Malade as well. Shape of You in English, Spanish and African Zulu is fantastic indeed. You can even see them dancing singing Smooth Criminal as well! And they broke the record of their own with Lazenca Save Us winning 4 trophies for King of Kings in a row in Immortal Songs 2!
Forestella is a quartet of Ko WooRim (classical bass, intense abyss-deep low tone), Kang HyungHo (ex-research chemist & rock vocalist with soprano falsetto voice), Cho MinGyu (classical leggiero tenor, light boyish crystal clear tone) and Bae DooHoon (musical actor, one of the semi-finalists from Voice Korea 2, rough-textured husky tone with R&B, Pop groove). Each has distinct tone and style of singing, different charm. But all of them are famous as practice-freaks. Ko WooRim said they met more than 300 days together in Phantom Singer All Stars behind interview but in a radio program the leader (Cho MinGyu) revealed it would be around 20 days they didn't meet in 2020. So I think this explains how their perfection executed.

@@GOTGames The trouble you were having in saying anything is why I couldn't do what you do. It is hard to talk with a lump the size of New York in your throat!! Then there's the crying. I have a quirk in my brain, where most people get chills, I cry. Let me tell you that one thing alone makes you a target growing up. Couple that with I wasn't just the smallest in my class but the whole school.
But back to Forestella. They are exquisite. They are like a rich dessert. I always fall apart when they sing my favorite voice though is the guy's on the far right's. The 'cry' in his voice draws me in. I'm quiting now my mind just stopped working.

A quick bit of info about them: Forestella (meaning forest of stars) is a South Korean classical crossover/popera group that debuted in 2017 after they won a survival show called "Phantom Singer 2".
The members:
Cho Mingyu- classically trained opera singer, tenor leggiero
Bae Doohoon- musical actor, tenor, r&b, pop vocal
Kang Hyungho- countertenor/falsetto sopranist, rock vocal, no formal training
Kim Woorim- classically trained opera singer, baritone/bass vocal, youngest member '95-liner
There is also a guide video by AwkwardRobot called "A Guide to Forestella in 2022" for anyone interested in learning more about them. They signed to a new label last year (the same label as the kpop group ACE) and are started to get more active with international promotions- they even recently performed at kpop festival in Dubai.
They have a ton of amazing live covers and outstanding original music. I definitely recommend their song "You Are My Star" or their covers of "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Champions", "Matilda Sea Mi Suerte", "Je Suis Malade", and "Time in a Bottle". Yes! Forestella is one of the best vocal groups out there! Their harmonies are insane! They are under the label, Beat Interactive, which also houses A.C.E. I know I've been asking you to react to their hit, Under Cover, but seeing how much you love the harmonies of Forestella, I want to change my recommendation to A.C.E's cover of Someone You Loved (with Chan, Jun, and Donghun). I hope you'll watch it, even if you don't react, even if you think you know the song already. A.C.E makes the song their own and the harmonies at the end still give me goosebumps every time I hear it.
There is a reason Forestella joined this small label. One of my favorite new Christmas songs is a Beat Interactive Team Collaboration, Christmas Time by A.C.E (with Chan, Jun and Byeongkwan), Forestella, and SHY. It's a bit cheesy but aren't all the best Christmas songs?! But again the harmonies/vocals are insane!

I can’t believe what’s I just heard.I totally got lost in their emotional voice.
I 'discovered' them just a couple of days ago. Very late to the FORESTELLA 'Party' too! But reaction just like yours. Binge watching ever since. Still learning about each singer. Apparently they were brought together through a Vocal Competition & what a great synergy they have. Absolute genius - whoever orchestrated that. Each spectacular in their own right.
So... two have classical voice training, one came from a musical theatre background & the fourth had no formal vocal training whatsoever and was working as an industrial chemist!
