Hi I love all the Miss Read books! I want to recommend twoChristmas stories by Jan Karen. These came out in tiny illustrated book form. One is about snowmen and one about the famous marmalade cake. These go with her lovely series about a small town in North Carolina. The names escape me right now but they are easy to find and I know you’d enjoy them! 😊😊😊
New sub here. I just purchased vintage copy No Holly for Miss Quinn and am looking forward to reading it. I had some Miss Read books years ago, somehow went missing, so I’ve been rebuying older hardbacks and enjoying her books again. Thanks for a great review. are those Snow Villages on your bookshelf?
So glad you’re here! My village is actually a literary village. Here’s a link to a video I did about it a while back: Bookshelf Tour Part 1: My Literary Village ua-cam.com/video/jY3lWeoIim0/v-deo.html
Another good Christmas book is Shepherds Abiding by Jan Karon.. ❤
Thanks for the recommendation! I read some of the Mitford series and liked it.
Your videos are a delight to me!
That makes me so happy! ❤️ Thank you for watching and commenting!
Yes Katie, those two books go along with the Mitford series. Just so sweet.😊
I need to read the rest of that series!
I loved the Carolyn Haywood books. I read them in the 50s. I read my first, Primrose Day, when I was in first grade…. ❤
Such good memories! ❤️ I love her books about Betsy.
I had not thought about Christmas in Georgia for years! Thank you for mentioning it!
I love Celestine Sibley! Sweet Apple was the name of her home outside of Atlanta (that I couldn’t remember on the video).
I love the book Christmas tree!!!! Soooo cute! We will put our Uncle Dan on the fairy lights…..he will get them for you🥰
Thank you for the book Christmas tree idea! You’re right - Uncle Dan says he has some fairy lights in his car!
