Excellent video presentation, even with wife giggling in background, just adds to authenticity. You have an excellent rig, I'm a long time MAN fan but still enjoy my 1985 421 Unimog which I'll build out into a camper soon, It won't be as fancy but it will get us there and back. Take care folks.
Thanks for your comment! Much appreciated. She was very embarrassed when she realised her telephone conversation was being recorded! She didn't realise I was outside recording. Interested to know if what we were told the other day is correct. In Australia at least, insurance companies won't insure Unimogs. Is that right? Hope you're in that Unimog soon enjoying the open road!
Hi, nice setup, looking forward to learrning more of your adventures. We have a much smaller 'house' on the tray of a Land Rover ute which has served us well for 14 years of retirement. Cheers
Firstly, congratulations Garry and Heather on putting together the Gold Standard of trucks offering capability, safety and comfort. Considering getting an expedition truck and came across your content. I am a poor man with exquisite taste and will be selling an investment property in Sydney (when the market bounces back) to fund the truck so really want to get it right the first time. Just wondering if you can share a ballpark investment (truck + fit out) to get a similar build. While I am still researching builders, SLRV and ATW appear to be the standout with Krug being an overseas option. If you had your time around, what would you add/remove/change? Thanks Max
Nice to hear from you Max! We haven’t kept up to date with current prices but we found SLRV to be both competitive and very easy to work with. If you haven’t already, take a look at our video of the SLRV factory tour. If you contact Warrick from SLRV he’ll be able to give you a more accurate estimate re costing and timing. We’ve had the conversation a few times about what we would add or change and to be totally honest we can’t think of a single thing. This says volumes about this truck as we’re living in it full time. It’s our home😊
What exactly is there changed to mil standard? Did yo check and saw it or just heard about it? Bye the way, the loud talking and giggling person in the background was quite impressive 🙄🙄🙄
MAN Trucks in Brisbane Aus carried out the modifications to better equip these trucks for SLRV conversion. Re background giggling - Sensitive microphones:)
