LYRICS
Before we knew what we were missing
Before we felt desire’s sting
We were content with what we had
And never wanted for anything
We know it’s futile to compare
Our culture was the culprit, we were taken unaware
Manifest the weakness, a self-fulfilling prophecy
Undermining every insecurity
It’s a fear growing deeper when no one’s around
Like a nagging aching sore
The devil’s in the detail, the truth inconsequential
The idle mind is scrutinised, robbed of its potential in time
Begging for redemption, pleading for solutions
We know we never should have had this cross to bear
Our culture was the culprit, we were taken unaware
We’ve been led to think we needed more
(Resenting who we are)
Only to find that we were better off before
(Before we bought what we were sold, before we tried to fit the mould)
We’ve been chasing false perfection
Searching in the wrong direction
This is the crux of our corruption
Drawn into social seduction
Manifest the weakness, a self-fulfilling prophecy
Undermining every insecurity
To fan the flame, to watch your pride burn away
To reinforce the fear that taught us that we’re never good enough
We’ve been chasing false perfection
Searching in the wrong direction
This is the crux of our corruption
Drawn into social seduction

I hope they are ready to play this song on tour for the rest of their lives.
It's like a combination of bleed from within, thornhill and august burns red. absolutely godly stuff
best song on the album
BEST SONG IS THE WHOLE ALBUM
what about in somnus veritas, its short but sweet
Best song of Polaris, Salute to Ryan! \m/
So mad at myself that I just now found this band. Sucks metalcore band promotion is so lowsy. You really have to go out of your way to find new good bands
erich casey and then you end up finding a band that might be better than the band you were looking for
So true and I hate it
it's all worth it if you find music like THIS! I saw them live and became a fan! they were playing with we came as romans and alazka, but polaris was BY FAR THE BEST!!
Yeah a lot of djent and core bands i had to really DIG to find. Even older stuff from the 90s
those ghost drum notes tho
"we were better off before" chills every TYME!!!!!!!!
Favorite, amazing SOLO. 🔊
This is great!
look up guitar playthrough of this too. its dope
God this song rips rest in peace Ryan gone too soon.
That hit at around 2:40... So good!
Adam Gray vibes on the drums. Nice.
This is fucking amazing. The instrumentation really gives off a lamb of god technical vibe and the vocals are unique with a kinda as i lay dying style maybe?
Regardless this is freaking amazing and I'm happy to have found this band.
Soooo fuckin good
Why da fuck ain't i allowed to click the thumbs up a few dozen times?
Composition wise this reminds me a lot of northlane. But this isn't northlane. It's Polaris and they're fucking epic as well!
Yeah I feel you. I'd never compare the two but that riff reminds me of Blessthefall for some reason
I lost my shit in this outro.
Joel Ingalls playing it on drums gets me absolutely pumped!
this is fucking .. um .. what the fuck is this ?
