Thank you again and again for the charming villages you are taking us through, real gems of tranquillity and beauty ! I would watch you for ever!
And I mostly enjoy the central piece of the past rural life : the church ! Your elegant narrative style adds to it all !

Thank you for a delightful visit to Snowshill. Pity they aren’t longer. A beautiful day for your dogs to savour the lanes of the Cotswolds. Best wishes from Andrew, Grant, Brae the Westie and Maggie the cat at Albany, Western Australia 😊

My father, as a child, used to stay with relatives at Laverton, just down the hill from here, back in the late 20s. He always pronounced it "Snozzle" which I imagine was how the locals pronounced it back then.

Beautiful and serene countryside of Snowshill! Robin, as always, your tours are wonderfully presented! The Manor House and grounds looked interesting, it would be nice to have a tour of the house itself. Thanks for sharing your views of the Cotswolds📷👍🇺🇸

Above Snowshill towards Troupers Lodge there is an area called Snowshill Hill. So good they named it twice.

Another very interesting and well-made video. The only slight criticism I can make is that on most occasions that you show stained glass windows, the scene is over-exposed and the windows are burnt out to a degree that spoils the viewer's appreciation of them. It's necessary to stop-down the camera considerably to avoid this, which will render the surrounding area under-exposed but reveal the full beauty of the windows.

A charming portrait of a Cotswold village which delights the senses. But, as i think you rightly remark, period charm can conceal a more troubled history of lives weighed down by grinding poverty and arduous toil. Is the past always another country?

Well this was my childhood home, I lived in the 'Old forge' and yes it was a forge but that was actually dismantled and shipped to the US and reconstructed as part of a village there. My childhood was idilic playing as child in the Manor House and grounds, being scared witless when small by the samurai armour collection in the Manor House and Charles Wades eclectic collection of white elephants and the strange and wonderful from around the world, including shrunken heads. We would get snowed in for months and have to take our sledges to Broadway to get provisions and spend hours trudging back with them. Many of the villagers would help the local farmer during the harvest and would be rewarded at the end of the day with a feast provided by his wife, blankets on the ground with fresh bread cheeses hams and pickles to stuff our faces. All in all a idilic childhood I will never forget. I could tell some tales about the church and the local pub that would surprise.

Have you ever heard of a village/shire called Rosewood? I know that it existed as late as the 1820's.
