This SUV could very well embarrass some people that think their cars are fast.
Actually, the 2018 JaguarF-Type 400S V6 has very close performance figures in acceleration to this M40i. What will the full M version bring? Also it would great
if the performance data on the web page could allow one to choose a few cars and view their collective data all on the one page.
Thanks for the feedback. Excellent idea. We'll see what we can do. At the moment you can sort by body type (at bottom of table) and compare that way, if that's what you mean? In this car's case you select Medium SUV and it'll show you all of the competitors (premium and non-premium).
I had a guy in a WRX STI get pretty animated when my wife crushed him off a stop light in ours.

Around the 118k mark with 95% of the options. The only thing i didnt get was Carplay as I dont use Apple and cooled front and rear seats.

I assume this is a 2018 model my 2019 model has the pops and bangs removed in order meet the UK emissions and has a 6bhp reduction.

When did this happen? Take a look a couple of the reviews in the UK from back in June onwards. They all sound the same and have the crackles.

Again, it’s a very nice car and I like it but if you want a semi sporty BMW you may as well get 340i touring. Cheaper, sportier and just as much space in the boot. Yes you lack the higher driving position but I would sacrifice that for all the other advantages. But any a very nice car indeed and would take one over the Merc and Audi equivalents.
You have no idea how much difference it makes when driving SUV and not having to worry about scrubbing the driveway getting into your home, car park ramps :) . Let's face it, people who buy SUVs are mostly people who have young kids, which also makes it easier to get them in and out of child seat without having to bend your back too much. There's a reason why there is a market for SUV and a market for sedan. Also with this, it's on the G01 platform and comes with all the latest tech and gizmos from BMW, where as the outgoing 3 series is much older.
A 340i touring is not a m performance car, hence it does not sound anything like this, plus the resale is appalling compared to the x3.
The X3 M40i also gains 25kW/50Nm over the 340i at a similar weight. If it was just me, I'd jump at a 340i but as a fast family car the X3 M40i presents a very strong case, especially with M Performance brakes, exhaust etc
The 340i touring is slower and no where near as exciting as this X3. Plus the 340i has that old outdated interior.
I looked at all the options and decided on the M40i due to it being a SUV. Picked mine up in May and still enjoy driving it everytime I get the opportunity. It is a amazing vehicle and worth the price tag.

@@wissambitar5258 Ah sorry lol I saw vb and immediately thought of zb lol The VB didn't have a massive V8, just a 5.0 not massive, in Fact my 4 cylinder F30 328i has much more power than the old 5.0, amazing how far we've come with engines.

Everything but the exhaust note and engine performance was a letdown when I looked at the X3 M40i. Interior quality sucks. It definitely felt like it was more related to the F30 3-series than the G20 3-series. The heads up display for example was blurry and dull in color, the switchgear felt cheap and even the steering wheel almost felt rubbery. Yuck. It was a letdown compared to the old E90 3-series or current generation 3er, 5er, or new X5/X7. Hopefully they can address the shortcomings soon.
I also still hate BMW’s fake engine noise. Why do they think you need to blare fake engine sounds over top of a glorious I-6?
This is nothing yet . Their is M Performance Kit includes exhaust system and tuned original from BMW . Will be sound like M5 🤘I just fix one on 340 GT 2018 pops like firing 💥💥💥☄️

Hmmm it’s not the first variant of an X3 m it’s simple m styling previous years of the X3 model have done the same. True this isn’t a true M sport model it’s not tuned etc to the M standards such as x5M x6M M3 M5. You can get m styling for any model everyone knows that. Sure this is a great car as is but I can’t say much for the shitty silver interior looks cheap and nasty and it also has cheap plastics where leather used to be. BMW as far as luxury interiors has gone way down hill FACT

L Mac mate I own the previous model and I’ve owned other Bmw’s previously and the performance has obviously improved over the preceding models as it should each and every time but it has come at a cost of cheap interiors if you can’t see that then I can’t help you but perhaps an ophthalmologist might be able to 🤦🏻♂️

@@makalinwang6559 That's the time that he recorded. If a Q50 was there to compare, it would be slower. According to zeroto60times.com the BMW is faster 0-60 (4.4s vs 4.5s)
