hahaha i remember watching this years ago and loooooved it. yesterday i showed it to my 1 y/o daughter and she was highly amused and kept pointing at the screen and grinning.
This piece of haunting music takes us back to Children's Favourites for BBC Radio. The artistes are a surprise; the mists of time had caused the memory to think it must have been one of Burl Ives classics. Thanks 44 for making this available and there is an identical version of the same animation uploaded by BlahBlah and another lovely arrangement for flutes also. Just 1 minute 49 but it's infectious
Haha I had emailed you back in or before 2007 and you sent me the .swf file, and told me about it! I just found it on some old comcast upload that I put there in 2007... and you uploaded this here in 2007! XD Man, so long ago..... I just showed it to some friends and they went all nostalgic. Thanks for being such a big part of so many lives. :)
She's such a slacker! Yeah... the T-shirt business kinda dropped off when I got all busy and went to college. Alas... now they're collectors' items, if you can find 'em!
If indeed an early synthesizer was used on this recording it likely will be a Maestrovox/Clavioline-type instrument. According to Wikipedia a Clavioline was used for the original version of this song. (The 1953 tune "Little Red Monkey" by Frank Chacksfield's Tunesmiths, featuring Jack Jordan on clavioline. This was the first record featuring an electronic instrument to feature on the UK pop chart (April 1953). )
Well, I had just turned 14 when I started high school. Like most folks. :-) Regardless, I made this in 2002. So not sure what you're recalling. Cheers!
This was my cat's favorite video. She always tried to catch the monkey towards the end. She was so cute. I miss her. Good memories :)
this is a classic. my best friend and i used to watch it when we were little kids and i still love it.
My grandma used to sing this to me when I was little 🥲
This used to be on the radio when I was a little girl. I showed it to my grand daughter and she loved it. Bless you.
So glad to find this! I was afraid it might be gone since Flash is no more. 😭😭😭
Just to clarify... I made this in the summer of 2002. Didn't mean to imply it was new. :-)

You have NO IDEA how many times I watched this animation as a kid. The song still gets stuck in my head sometimes lol
I had this song on cassette. There are pictures of me dancing to it with a basket on my head. The mental scars have only just faded.
the three who were singing were the stars of the classic BBC 50s
sketch show Take It From Here Joy Nickols Dick Bently & Prof Jimmy Edwards
A nostalgic classic for me and I love the simplicity of the animation, beats the complex stuff hands down.
My mother used to play this on the piano. 😂 Crazy 🤪 still love it. Do the monkey lily Alfie and katia. Xxx#

One of Ken Griffins most disturbing tracks, and that animation fits it perfectly.

This gave me one of the worst earworms I've ever had back in the day. But I sitll love it and the video. :) Thank you for making & uploading!

Well, I do know that my friend Keri (kerd2006) had it on her profile once. (:
Does anyone know what early synthesizer was used on this recording, was it a Maestrovox or something similar?
Yeah... they ripped the shockwave file from my personal site. They took it down after I asked them to.
