Get to a thrift store and get a $2-5 aluminum cane for a improv Cruise Control. It's adjustable and works I have had gout and I operated the cluch with the cane. I was city driving so I needed more clutch help.
There's small motorcycle you can get back with. You want a 250 at least go 70 mph / 60mpg. You can put a motor on a bike you'll go 10 mph and get 100 mpg. The guy who bikes probably hitches on the way back.
Freight hopping is a risk but I bet a train goes to CHI from SFO.
If you can plan ahead you can get a better price for a ticket back. Maybe buy a ticket in anticipation of getting the run.
You didn't show fuel
Save all reciept you are in for a hella tax return.
Deductible.
You need to take out of your pay gas, food, lodging and taxes
I take the $60 a day food perdium and write off fuel and lodging. I just didn't include the food and lodging on the video because it will very per person and I was just trying to give potential new drivers an idea of what it costs per trip for just there and back.
What perdium? And what was your fuel cost, please?
Did you run those trucks on sunshine? I’m not seeing fuel cost…
I was talking about on taxes u can write off about $60 per day per deim. No one actually eats 60 a day so it benefits u to take the government write off vs recording 30 a day. Bring an independent Contractor, u can write off a lot of your tax liability
Fuel varies by size of the vehicle and distance but they give u a fuel surcharge to make up the difference in loss of fuel so in general, a 2k mile run probably costs about $500 in fuel to do it.
Haven’t even started watching..but hell no it’s not worth it..
I personally like traveling around and have no ties to anywhere, so this just pays to do it. But I would agree with u that if u plan on being in a hotel room every night, and having a wife and kids at home to support, this probably is not the right job for u. I just live on the road full time, so I have $100 cell phone bill for 2 phones and $40 a month storage unit as my only real bills besides food.
