My Jibid quotable for the day: "Crafting is about head space as much as it is about results. So enjoy the journey. Think about when you were five and you made mud pies. You know, you weren't making mud pies because you were hungry. It's not really about the results, it's about enjoying yourself. You didn't stress about the result when you were five, don't stress about it now. Just enjoy yourself." WONDERFUL to see your LOVEly face, Jibid! The plant transfers are BEAUTIFUL and I also like the backs of the pages; they are more subtle and you can add lines or keep blank for writing. THANKS for sharing your process with us! :-)
Your generosity in sharing your process is so greatly appreciated, your philanthropic gesture to the art community beyond measure. I’ve often told my friends who see my work that your influence has helped shape my journey. Thank you falls short of my expression of gratitude.
i dont mean to be so offtopic but does any of you know a method to get back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid lost my password. I love any help you can offer me
Not sure if you will see this, since it has been a year...I just found your channel...but in case you see this... I simply loved this video. Your papers are beautiful!! It is winter in Missouri, in the United States...but in a few weeks, I am going on vacation where it is warm! I will be bringing home some leaves...in water!! Thanks so much for sharing!
Jibid, I was so jazzed when I saw you had made this tutorial video! I’ve often wondered about your technique as your results are stunning. You are so kind and generous to share your expertise. Thank you. I too, live next door to a middle school and I so enjoy the sound of young people engaging in outdoor activities.
Not only are you a superb artist but you're an excellent engineer as well. The numerous varieties of styles, design and presentation is incredibly creative! I always learn new things watching your videos. ALWAYS and inspiration!
Thank you for taking us along for this wonderful journey! I enjoyed this video so much, this was actually my second time watching it. You transported me to England, listening to those wonderful birds, that amazing bee that buzzed past you, just feeling like I was in an English garden. But obviously, watching all those wonderful papers get created was so incredibly inspiring! Don't sell yourself short though, while you might think that the process is super easy, I can tell you have a gentle touch to ensure all the leaves and inks are done just so to create that beautiful effect. That takes patience and attention to detail. Amazing work! Thanks!
Wonderful tutorial Jibid. Thank you. I can't wait to try. "You didn't make mud pies as a child because you were hungry!!!"....oh that made me laugh. That will be my new motto for trying new things 😂😂😂 love your humor, girl!! Looking forward to your next woodland journal!!! 😘
thank you so much for this, you are most generous. i have a tip for cheap ink - you can buy bottles of ink to refill printers. they are highly pigmented and come with syringes xxx
Thank you so much for the step by step tutorial and your patience and dedication which are greatly appreciated. I'm a bit behind but it doesn't detract from the enjoyment. It must be six decades since I made mud pies but I can still remember the thrill of it all!. Bravo! PS. Loving the bird song from the near by forest and what an ideal setting for your imagination.
Fantastic great tutorial, thanks for sharing and nice to see you Jibid in action in your lovely garden. Curious to see more of the garden and all the leaves that grow in it. :)
I now have one project for when I’m on summer holidays at the cottage. Wonderful video. Thank you so much for sharing. It is all about the journey, trying and experimenting. And knowing that gives us the freedom to try!
What a wonderful tutorial this is. All of your papers are gorgeous. You are a great instructor, and it was so nice to meet you "face to face". Thanks Jibid!
Hello Jibid, how nice to meet you and spend sometime with you in your garden today. I’m an avid follower and admirer of your work. Thank you for sharing your transfer techniques. I will look at every leaf very differently as I pull weeds, take walks and go foraging. Thank you for the inspiration.
Thank you so much Jibid. This was wonderful to watch and I enjoyed learning. I live in an arid zone, so I will have to experiment. You answered my question before I asked when you said the oven drying method would affect the inks. I love your videos, because I always walk away with more knowledge than I had before. Thank you!
Thanks so much for this video! I really enjoyed watching your methods, and I especially needed that encouragement at the end to enjoy the process. I think I will strive to reclaim that joy that I have had since I was a child crafting with my late mom back in the '50s- making dyes from food coloring and berries and yes, Kool Aid, lol, making glue from flour or cornstarch, using whatever paper scraps we could find around the house and putting together a project just to have the joy of creating something unique and beautiful to enjoy later. Your videos remind me of how much I enjoyed my art projects and experiments before I started comparing my own results with what others online were doing. Looking forward to catching up on more of your older videos that I missed!
Oh my dear, thank you for your gracious gift of sharing. What a lovely natural effect you achieve. Absolutely splendid. You mentioned it not being an actual “transfer”... to my thinking it is a kin to a stenciling process of sorts. My plan is to experiment tomorrow. Plenty of plants in my garden to choose from.... however I live in Oxford, Michigan, USA... we have a lot of wind... that will be a challenge as I enjoy the journey and process!😊 One of my expressions is “Life is a tapestry... embrace the threads!” You are one of the colorful threads in life! Thank you so very much for “weaving” your treasure way via UA-cam. Lorraine
thank you so much for how to do this I tried tea dying paper for the first time yesterday and it ripped apart and I didn't get many big sheets only half sheets but it was a start. I have always wondered how to get the impressions of leaves love the papers and I do have a few spray inks from doing mixed media. So with nicer weather here in Ontario this coming week I will try a few snips of plant leaves, etc. and order thicker paper and play. Once again enjoy your craft and thanks for your wonderful tutorial, and pointing me in the right direction. I believe as an artist we all need to be reminded to have fun!. I've travelled to London a few times and loved your country, people and all the wonderful memories we have created there on holidays. Xolori
Hi lori thanks so much for your comments, so nice to hear about your crafting journey and glad that i had a little part there too! Happy crafting, love j x
Jibid, thank you so much for this. I make watercolor, etc. pages for my journals and have been wanting to experiment with leaf transfers and you have certainly given me the motivation to get started. I love your voice and the way you patiently explain your techniques - not to mention your most lovely journals. Thank you also for a look into your life and a face to go with the voice. Of all your videos I have enjoyed this one the best. I too would love to be your neighbor
Oh Jibid, Jibid! How incredibly inspiring and totally fun to watch and learn! I adore your outside art space and the sounds of peoples laughter and especially the bees buzzing by and those beautiful birds! I even thought I heard a couple I recognized! ( Flycatcher and a seagull?) I actually watched this SEVERAL times because I did NOT want to miss a thing! You are one of the artist in my 'life' that has transformed my thought process when creating, NOT to mention it was YOU who turned me onto eco dying! ( which I dearly love and now plant specifically for that!) Thank you SO VERY MUCH for taking the time out to show us your beautiful ways of creating beautiful pages! How incredibly blessed is the next person to receive the woodland journal! You've lit another fire under me to go and try this process and my head is FULL of new ideas to try along with this technique!! I will try with flowers first and share with you the results! I feel you are such a kindred spirit with your love for nature and your creative spirit! You are a wonderful 'mentor' to me and many others! A beautiful artist and an inspirational one! Always feel blessed after watching your tutorials! Thank you deeply!
Brilliant, Jibid! I love the horse chestnut print. I haven't seen one of those trees here in Nevada for years. I believe they all died from a disease. I enjoyed seeing a bit of your yard as well. Thank you so much for helping us.
Thank you for taking the time to share the process you use making your papers. Your journals inspire me so much and seeing how to get these beautiful effects I feel more of my creative juices starting to bubble up into my thoughts. 🙂
Wow what a wonderful tutorial!! So generous of you to share, can’t wait to give it a go. Especially lovely to see your face. Thanks so much for sharing and much love. Xxx
I just HAVE to comment again! I just can’t express my gratitude enough for your generosity in sharing your beautiful process with us! I’ve so long admired your papers! I have been thinking and waiting for the right timing to experiment with a similar process but you have a lot to add to what I was thinking and I’m not sure that I would have ever figured out some of the steps! You’re amazing! Best of luck always!!
Thank you Jibid for sharing. Greatly appreciated. It is always nice to see how others achieve their styles and then adapt those ideas to your own style.🧚♂️💕💐
I thoroughly enjoyed this video, I thought it was very detailed you explain everything perfectly it was very interesting to watch. I'm also in the UK so I can fully understand your comments about the weather, I think your results were lovely and crafting is all about enjoying the journey, results are good but it's the journey we take to reach them that's the best. Thank you for sharing 😀
Beautifully done. I do this too, but sprinkle with salt and put papers on top and weight with books. I do this with stencils as well. Love the textured wallpaper idea.
Oh Jibid!!! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!! You are such a gift to me, and to many others out there. Those papers are sooo beautiful, I think I dyed and went to Heaven, which I do a lot when watching your videos!!! I eco-dyed papers yesterday, so today I will do this plant transfer. I think maybe "plant printing" is a better name?? Thank you again Jibid for sharing your talent and ideas with us!!!
This was my second time watching your video because there was so much information. Thank you for being so thorough. Lovely pages. Loved the ocean journal. Fabulous!
Thanks for the great tutorial. Loved to see your beautiful face and really appreciate all the tips to do your leaf imprints. Couldn't agree more that it's all about having fun and we certainly do that with your videos! Thank you again.
Thank you so much for sharing your process and I looooove the owl hooting at the end, so cool!!!! Your papers turned out beautiful. You could call them impressions, or imprints, because thats what the leaf is doing, is leaving an impression or an imprint.
Thanks again Jibid! This is so timely for me. I've intended to this and now that winter is finally over, I will! Thanks for the tips. You've helped a lot. Janie
You rock!!!!! Thanks so much. My twin sister bought some Distressed Inks and I never tried them. Since we live together we share supplies and I am going to try this. I have started doing collage on old hardback book covers and this will be ideal to use with them.
Thank you once again for your creative ideas. Love all your work and some day hope to be able to buy one of your beautiful journals. Also like your calm voice. 😍🤗
I enjoy your creativity and generosity, you elevate my thinking and inspire my work. Your videos are anticipated like a visit with an old and dear friend, so I come away feeling both relaxed and inspired. Off to grade papers (almost done with our school year) and plan for a paper dying session for this weekend. Thank you, Jibid!
I like this method, I have used it with doilies and feathers and even artificial flowers. Its a great idea to put the elements down first, too. I love your work it is phenomenal, Jibid, seriously. Your journals are just amazing works of art. Sometimes I just watch and dream. I always learn something new.
Two thumbs up Jibid! I really, really wish that we were neighbors. But, alas, I'm in the US, so it would be a bit of a walk to join you for tea. I really enjoy your gentle nature, and your sense of style. Thanks again for a very lovely idea, I can't wait for the leaves to pop out. :-)
Thank you very much for demonstrating this technique! I love the effect of the plants and inks on the papers. I press plant material so I would try this with those. Your papers really are beautiful.
Jibid thanks for doing this video it's so kind of you to share your process. Looking forward trying it myself but in the meantime I bought your woodland inky pages to keep me going in the mean time. As someone said below loved your quote at the end I found it so reassuring. x
What fabulous eco dyed papers!! I'll be sure to experiment with this style once warmer days are upon us. I'm so looking forward to making these. I thank you so much for sharing your process!
Absolutely Beautiful!!! Gonna try this today ..working on a new journal and this would be perfect I think...Thank you sooo much for sharing the technique...So kind of you to show us...Hugs and Love from North Carolina
Thank you so much! Beautiful papers and doable method. Thank you for offering alternate methods with different media, for those who dont have all the supplies.
These are so fab.... I think the impression the leaves give are awesome especially the ferns and horse chestnut leaves. I have Brushos made up into sprays so might try those... but recently I used then to dye paper like tea staining seemed to work well. I liked your autumnal papers can't wait to see how they turned out. 😊😊😊 Thank you for sharing your technique xx
Love your technique! Simply gorgeous!!! .... I sometimes buy a bunch of mixed flowers...and first rule is always to remove the bottom leaves to prevent your water from going green too soon.... so there are always leaves available to one in this way!.... I do have a huge garden...but thought this might be a tip someone living without access to plants too easily could find the leaves to work with! About the 'wet leaves' they will lie flatter and closer to your paper so will leave a better outline...than dry leaves!
Lovely tutorial! Not quite what i expected you were doing. It's more of a masking or resist process than a transfer i submit. Anyway i as alway thank you for sharing your gift with the rest of us. You are a very talented artist.❤️
Merci ! After follow nik the booksmith 's video on eco print, and so happy to see the result , i promess you i go again in my garden for follow your méthod with transfer plants ... So 1000 mercis .
Gorgeous! Thanks so much for sharing your techniques! I totally love it and the mud pie analogy at the end I can really relate to! I was a mud pie kid!
Thank you so much for this tutorial, have watched you flip through your books just dying to know how you got these amazing papers, just love the effects and can’t wait to have a play, thank you again. 😍
You might be looking for an old term called 'resist dye.' Also, I find that you can use a little water color (even inexpensive ones) to make very good dye. Koi water color is actually ink and makes intense colors. Thank you for sharing your artist's soul and process with us. Bless you.
I'm new. Thank you for your message to the newbies. These are marvelous. No pot on the stove, no boiling, no rusted pieces, no heavy rocks !! Easy peasy!! Would watered dow tempra paints and food coloring work ? I think the backs are perfect for journaling on !!
@@junerobbins6871 thanks so much jun for your lovely message! I haven't used tempra paints sorry I don't know, but I reckon that any paint you can mix with water has a good chance, happy playtime 😄 x
Helloooo! Nice to see you! Thank you so much for sharing this - can't wait to give it a try. Need to invest in some more spray inks. Lovely papers! xxxx
Wonderful tutorial Jibid. Thank you so much for sharing your techniques. I have found in trying to dye lace with Vintage Photo spray ink it tends to turn pink and it’s not a pretty pink. I sprayed my lace and not wanting it a dark I rinsed it and it turned pink. I can’t wait to try this. I’ve never had any luck transferring paper doilies on my tea dyed papers so I think your tips will help me. I absolutely loved your paper ocean journal. I had never really thought about using colors to dye my papers but it is brilliant. I wish I was as creative as you but you have inspired me to be more creative. Have a lovely day ❤️.
I loved this video. You taught me so much and I am inspired to try lots of things. My whole front garden is ferns, so I am going to do fern paper! Thanks!!!
Thanks for sharing...love these Jibid! I’ll be giving this a try. Much easier to do than the eco dying. FYI my Tim Holtz vintage photo separates with a pink tone in it when I add a lot of water to it.
This just popped up on my feed, I love eco dying so am excited to give this option a try. I'm interested how the pages came out using the dried leaves, will look to see if the results are shown in the Woodland journal. Someone may have suggested this already, too many comments to read through, lol, but thinking I may try a little spray ink mixed with the water originally sprayed before laying the paper down, will give a little more color to the back, although, I like plenty of writing room in my journals, so lighter paper on one side works for me. That was it, on to perusing your channel, thanks for a great video!!!
Thank you so much for the gift of this video. You've given me lots to think about and lots of ideas to try. I really loved your mermaid journal...color was gorgeous. I'll have to buy some spray inks to experiment with.
So wonderful to see you 😍... and thank you for so much for this tutorial video. It is so amazing and inspiring as always. Excited to try this. Big hugs...

I liked your autumnal papers can't wait to see how they turned out. 😊😊😊
Thank you for sharing your technique xx
Great tutorial and very informative! Can't wait for the rain to lift today so I can go outdoors and give it a try. TFS, Jibid!
Jibid, Thank you!! This was such a great demonstration. You are constantly inspiring me with your videos.
Thank you for sharing your expertise....you are such an inspiration and I love your ideas and stories.
Merci ! After follow nik the booksmith 's video on eco print, and so happy to see the result , i promess you i go again in my garden for follow your méthod with transfer plants ... So 1000 mercis .
Thank you for sharing this great technique. This is very generous of you. I can't wait to see the journal.
Gorgeous! Thanks so much for sharing your techniques! I totally love it and the mud pie analogy at the end I can really relate to! I was a mud pie kid!
So Appreciate You For Sharing How You Go About Creating. Also appreciate the free videos too, not a lot of money for some of us... Very HelpFul!!!
Thank you so much for this tutorial, have watched you flip through your books just dying to know how you got these amazing papers, just love the effects and can’t wait to have a play, thank you again. 😍
You might be looking for an old term called 'resist dye.'
Also, I find that you can use a little water color (even inexpensive ones) to make very good dye. Koi water color is actually ink and makes intense colors.
Thank you for sharing your artist's soul and process with us.
Bless you.
@Kelli Ryan Do you have any more information on resist dye?
Do you have any more information about Koi watercolor to make dyes?
Happy am I to find this video 🥰 I’m looking forward to trying this when winter has left Pennsylvania, USA! 🌿🌸
Thank you so much for sharing. Definitely will be trying this technique. You are a wonderful artist.
Helloooo! Nice to see you! Thank you so much for sharing this - can't wait to give it a try. Need to invest in some more spray inks. Lovely papers! xxxx
Thank you so much for kindly sharing this process. I do appreciate. Your pages always looks lovely. Now I can attempt to make some as well. Hugs!💝
This is the first time I’ve seen this. Hello beautiful lady. Thank you for sharing this. I feel less scared to try it now. Hugs. 💜
❤All the papers are beautiful. Thank you 🙏
Thanks so much Jibid! So kind of you to share, I can't wait to give this a go.
All are lovely, suitable for framing. Can't wait to try my hand at these!
Thanks so much, have fun!
Thank you so much for sharing your technique! Your papers are always so interesting and beautiful.
Happy Sunday. Great video. Very nice. Catching up.
Thank you for sharing this process. I did two batches yesterday. They turned out great.
Wonderful tutorial, thanks so much Jibid. I love your videos, you are so very inspiring.
I loved this video. You taught me so much and I am inspired to try lots of things. My whole front garden is ferns, so I am going to do fern paper! Thanks!!!
Love this tutorial Jibid! Great job teaching us!
Love these! They are beautiful!!! Thank you so much for sharing your technique with us!
Thanks carol, I appreciate it. Sorry for the poor quality of the video, it was the best I could do at the time. Hope you have fun playing x
Thank you so much for the gift of this video. You've given me lots to think about and lots of ideas to try. I really loved your mermaid journal...color was gorgeous. I'll have to buy some spray inks to experiment with.
Thank you soooo much for this! I have always loved your "leafy printy stencilly Pages"!!! I shall certainly be giving this a try!
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I will try this today! It was so good to see you. Your ideas inspire me. xoxo Sharon McKinney
So wonderful to see you 😍... and thank you for so much for this tutorial video. It is so amazing and inspiring as always. Excited to try this. Big hugs...
Thank you for the tutorial. I boiled leaves last week and it's was such a mess. Can't wait to try this.
