- Il castello è una delle più grandi fortezze del territorio varesino. L'attuale struttura risale al sec. XII. Nel periodo intorno al sec. XIV furono costruiti i rustici a sinistra dell'edificio principale dalla classica pianta ad U, priva di torri e chiusa da un muro ad ovest. Nel '700 è stato riadattato a residenza signorile.
