Hi Rainer! Glucklicherweise gibt es eine Loesung fur dieses Problem, aber leider kann ich Ihnen nur auf Englisch erklaeren: the 6x6 spools fir these wonderful cameras were thicker than the modern metal ones. If you wind some tape around the take-up spool, cutting a slot for the 120 film paper leader, this restores the spool to original thickness. I find that this pretty well eliminates the problem on my Super Ikonta III. Viel Spass damit!
Hi Florian! Es gift auch Amerikaner, die etwas Deutsch verstehen! I have an identical SI III, but with the f3.5 Novar (three element Cooke). I use it exclusively for black and white. I have the impression that the Novar is just as good as the Tessar, if (an important if) it is stopped down to f8 or more. Have you heard of any comparisons? Viele Grusse an Ihre herrliche Stadt! Jk
Hi Jeremy, no, I do not know anything about the comparison. I was searching for the Tessar. But I think that is my personal emotion towards the Tessar and has nothing to do with quality
I have shot both a Tessar Super Ikonta and an older Nettar with the three-element Novar. The Tessar is superior in both contrast and sharpness, especially at the corners. The Novar does give an old-fashioned, dreamy quality , especially in black and white images, if you're going for that sort of look. But the Tessar is almost as sharp and contrasty as modern lenses, and produces superb bokeh when shot wide open at f 2.8. The Super, with the 2.8 Tessar I use is from the late 1930s, and it's one of my favorite cameras. Andy
Finally, an English review. Thank you!
Super nice work!
Are you sure it's 513/16 but rather 531/16 ?
You are right, it is the 531/16! This was a mistake
Hallo Florian, habe gerade auch eine Super Ikonta IV bekommen. Bei meiner überlappen die Bilder manchmal (nur wenig). Hast du das gleiche Problem?
Nein, das Problem hatte ich nicht.

Hi Jeremy, good proposal. Will test this during the next days
