    Thanks a lot for your very nice and educative video!!!! I have seen other people doing Free Hand Embroidery, but their videos, although very artistic lack explanations like which nachine they used, which settings, and how to combine them. But with you I have learned a lot in just 18 minutes!!!!! One of the most fruitful periods of learning time in my life!!!!!! My late (RIP) beloved mother left me with an old White model 1505, and an old black Singer model 15 Treadle machine, both of which that I still have, and I was wondering how my mother and my Grandmother were able to do embroidery with those machines!!!! But you have given me the Key for that!!!! Thanks again, and the Lord bless, guide and protect you so you can continue teaching these excellent methods!!!!!!

    Thanks for the detailed explanation. Did you use a regular wooden hoop and wrap the border with tissue paper?

      I wrapped the hoop in grossgrain ribbon -- any non-slippery ribbon or cloth works fine.

    James can you tell me where to get the magic foot control you speak of for the 1914? I did a search and come up with nothing... Great video!

      Sorry for the confusion. I tried two ways to slow down the 1914. The first is shown in the video ua-cam.com/video/JlFg06n17ow/v-deo.html. The easier option is to purchase a lamp dimmer switch which is digital so it does not overheat. With the second option, it is pretty much plug and play except for the light. If you use a dimmer switch for the entire machine, the lamp will go dim too. I just purchased a new Kenmore cord and then put the lamp mechanism onto the foot wires and then it works perfectly.

      @jamesrogers991  5 років тому

      Yes, straight and zig zag used in conjunction with each other. But basically going from straight and gradually increasing the width.
