At retirement I decided to learn to play piano after decades of playing flute. I got an instruction book from the local music store and about put myself over the edge trying to read all those lines of notes! After seeing you on PBS I picked up your first Fake Book and played a song perfectly the first time. An amazing way to learn piano for the average person and I can't thank you enough for teaching me to play piano!

I really enjoy your course Scott. I am still taking traditional lessons after 3 years as I really like my teacher and he encourages me to use other methods like yours. When I get overwhelmed with my lesson material (which happens quite a bit), I will come back to your lessons. I’m sure at some point I’ll stop my other lessons (not sure how to know when that time has arrived) and concentrate more fully on completing your lessons, as, in the long run, yours is the type of music I want to play. I’m 65 so I should probably make a decision pretty soon, lol. If you look at your student’s progress you’ll probably see that I’m in the slower group…but I will not give up. Thanks for all the videos.

I just love this guy and way he does things. If i had it to do over again, I would not have bought all the piano learnin' stuff that i did buy from other places and would have just got probably most of Scott's stuff. If you are just learning, I recommend this guy. That's my 2 cents worth........

There is always, always a know it all... I see it in every video, “ you should have done it this way”, or, I find, it is easier on myself to just admit when I do not know something, or could you please educate me. The overhead view of the keyboard is key, practice is also key. I got my keyboard out of the box and have tried your lessons... I enjoy the lessons...

Everything you said is true. I am learning and enjoying. However I wish I could learn faster. No fault of yours, I’m just not a quick study. I will say this, I am having one heck of a good time progressing daily. Thank you, thank you. (I have several of your books. They are great. Now get my fingers to fit the keys! Oh boy.)

The playpianoinaflash .com lessons are for real and I can recommend for anyone wanting to learn how to play from a fake book/play for fun - you will have to put the time in of course - I think I may fall in another group of those who lose some steam and just stop with the lessons and practice - you have motivated me to dust off my piano and get back to the course and playing again! Thanks for putting the course together!

Scott will probably never see this message since he uploaded the video 3 yrs ago but my question would be what more could he offer in his paid course than what he's shared here on UA-cam? I've learned so many insights, tips and tricks from him (that I'm grateful for) here on his channel.

Hi Richard, I'm here! I would say the best way to describe the full method (6 Courses) at pianoinaflash.com vs. these random vids on UA-cam is that it is MUCH more curated and linear versus the scattershot different things here. One (kind of whacky) analogy I've used to try and describe it in the past is that I will be driving you down a very purposeful path on a particular route (that I learned works best over the last 25+ years of doing just this), but YOU will be determining how fast we go down that path. It's like we'll be driving the bus together, but I'll be steering, and you'll be controlling the pedals. It's also very interactive as far as the integration between the video lessons and the 9 physical books you receive as a student. I'm refer to those books very consistently in the video lessons so you'll have not only my ugly mug and hands on keys in the lessons to watch, but also the books to refer to at the same time. Hope that helps explain a little further ... :-)

@@pianoinaflash Scott I'm surprised you found my comments. You have a gift for teaching this stuff. I love your style of teaching and your sense of humor. I ordered another online course about a month ago but yours sounds so good I may end up doubling up and getting yours too. Thanks for all the tricks and tips and insights!.
