- Throwing in the towel for the season after just 1 game seems like a bold strategy. Let's see if it pays off

Dude I absolutely love your channel. You’re so knowledgeable and well researched. Love you bro
Thanks! Appreciate that a ton
Speaking of anything that can happen the Commanders beating the Bengals I appreciate your videos
Anyone can beat our defense don’t get too excited
@@Kayew1027 I totally agree but I couldn't help to get excited when we beat the Bengals I do understand realistically we are looking probably at best a 7-10 season but we are headed in the right direction
7:27 Which is what your rating would be if you just didn't even show up.
JG9, consider this. The Cowboys weren't that good then. They went 5-8-1 in '64 and 7-7 in '65.
(in parrot talk) P-p-p.. Playoffs? You're talking about... playoffs? Are you kidding me? I just hope we can win a game.
It was an unhealthy overreaction but keep in mind: The Cowboys were 18-46-4 before the game.
Wait for it.... Wait for it....0.0 QB rating! 😮.😮 I was waiting for the "which is worse than spiking the ball into the ground every single play" line, and 0.0 came instead!
The video went to an ad right at that point so i even said the line during the add then ad ended
Honestly, knowing that the Giants beat my 2nd favorite team in week 3 really concerns me for Cleveland
Is it time already to make fun of the Giants? Trick question, there is never a bad time.
I’m from the Bronx Newyork. I used to like the giants but then I realized they played in east rutherford NJ and it pissed me off
Hey, it's Uncle Allie! Always nice to see.
>Giants lose opening game to Dallas.
>"We're not making the championship."
Bro was ahead of his time.
Fun fact: Wide Receiver Homer Jones of the Giants was the first player to spike the ball after a touchdown. Until then, the tradition was to throw the ball into the stands. However, in 1965, the NFL decided to start giving out fines for throwing the ball into the stands. Homer Jones gave it the name "spike."
Which makes it doubly weird that we missed your "spike the ball on every play" catch phrase.😢
1994/1995 Blackburn Rovers were the only other football club besides 2015/2016 Leicester City to win the Premiership and not be named Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, or Liverpool. Blackburn Rovers are currently wasting away in the Championship. The Championship in contrast is a league that quite literally anyone could win or get promoted from it or even relegated to it.
What I find fascinating about the '65 Cowboys season is that one can pick out the precise moment that Dallas went from "just another also-ran" that they'd been from their beginning, to the contender that they would be for over 20 years.
That moment came in week 8. Going into that game they were 2-5, having won this Giants game here and the Redskins the next week, only to lose the next five including a loss to a Steelers team that was (arguably) the worst in Steelers history. However, in week 8, Mel Renfro gathered in the opening kickoff and took it coast-to-coast, and though the 49ers took the lead briefly, Dallas still beat them 39-31 and launched from there to a 5-2 2nd half to finish 7-7 and 2nd place - and then lost the NFL championship the next two seasons, etc.
Dallas had been showing flashes of promise for years. For reasons I do not understand, Tex Maule of Sports Illustrated predicted the Cowboys to win the division in 1963 for instance. DIdn't happen, wasn't even close. But once the Cowboys beat San Francisco, they were on their way.
No wonder why Giants fans weren't fond of Allie Sherman! He really jumped the gun there. Losing your season opener isn't ideal, but it's not a death sentence.
Given the Giants were 2-10-2 a year earlier going from first to worst after being in the NFL title game a year before that, not surprising.
Well, what did they expect when they made bad trades and drafted poorly in the early 1960's.
Fun Fact: After that game came the first utterance of “We Dem Boys!”
Screw the NEW JERSEY GIANTS
Eventually every team in the NFL will finish at .500, thanks to Big Gambling. Mark my words
Against the spread, or straight up?
