Mate, there's a better way to do this. Set your closed hat to cut itself in that same sample properties window, and then set the Open Hat to CUT BY the same number as the Closed hat. This allows you to place your hi hats wherever and it'll automatically clamp down on them, instead of changing the envelope for the sample EVERY time it hits. Creates a better groove because the open hat will sometimes ring out and sometimes clamp down. The reason you do this has to do with traditional drumming - There's only one hi hat. You can only hit it one way at a time, but there's so much more articulation - pedals, semi closed, etc.
