Best cliff-hanger ending of the year.
I know... I am dying to see some video of that petting zoo.
Love this guy. Talking about bombs and munitions in an airport.
While wearing a mask LOL
@@keithshamradioworld2793 While passing a girl making a TikTok video.
@@keithshamradioworld2793 While ending the video with "Oooh a petting zoo, bye!"

The only thing missing is Islam and an immediate trip to Guantanamo.
We've come a long way when a masked, bearded man can casually stroll around an airport talking to his phone about "bombs" and not get swarmed and put into a detention camp 🤣
I was thinking the same thing when he said bomb 😂
White man privilege 🤣
🤣 Yes - That !
there’s one key difference here, take all the time you need
In New York of all places
Wandering around Laguardia saying "Bomb!" every twenty seconds while wearing a mask is one of my families' most cherished christmas traditions.
Happy holidays Peter. Keep up the good work.
Born and raised in Queens, here (now in north Va). The notion of LaGuardia no longer being the airport of dying dreams is FAR more shocking than the Ukrainian acquisition of “smart” air technology.
I mean: order, cleanliness, laughter and a petting zoo in LaGuardia?? Speechless…
I went to LaGuardia right before lock down and a ceiling panel literally fell down in front of me. I went again last August and was shocked. It's so nice now.
The animals don't even poop there.
Very clean.
@@protorhinocerator142 the human kind? or the stray pet kind? or both?
@@templetonpatrick the ceiling falling down is the LaGuardia I know. I have loads of memories of watching Mets’ games in neighboring Shea Stadium that had to be periodically halted due to a Boeing 747 about to land in the bullpen. The entire design and execution of that airport was a disaster.
I flew out of there yesterday. It’s a shocking transformation.
That ending was precious.
"Oh wow there's a petting zoo down here!
GOTTAGOBYE! "
🤣
I love the possibility that the video ended because Peter went to the petting zoo
Pete never misses an opportunity to visit a petting zoo.
That’s for sure why the video ended 😂
And not arrested by the NSA
“Geopolitics? Geosmolotics, I’m off to the petting zoo! 😃”
Petting instead of Pershing.😁
I absolutely love these little off the cuff updates on the geopolitical landscape. It’s definitely something I’m going click on and watch when it shows up in my recommended list.
I especially got a kick out of the genuine little kid excitement energy there at the end. If I came across a random petting zoo at an airport that’s exactly how it would make me feel 😊
It’s just so cool! Kids and war!! Great!!
“Oh look, there’s a petting zoo here. I gotta goooo!”
Peter has his priorities straight.
Peter is actually just a big kid. The gray are all dyes.
"Things to look for in the coming war, OH A PETTING ZOO!"
Peter. Any candidate for President or national higher office would benefit from your ability to apply history to todays problems I appreciate your daily briefings the way I used to appreciate great history, professor lectures in college. They brought the world to life and always made it a scarier place but I couldn’t get enough I can’t get enough of your books, daily briefs, and video lectures on UA-cam Thanks for offering so much of what you know to common plebes like me. Like Ukrainians I take the mental munitions and weapons you give me load up the Geo coordinates in HIMARS and destroy arrogant egoists at cocktail parties with pinpoint accuracy wherever I go
That last part was cringe

This has probably the best ending to any of his videos Ive ever seen.
👍Thanks Peter for doing an update in an airport, commitment!
Peter - Merry Christmas to you, yours and your team. The fact that you can provide your usual gold star insights and then turn and be excited about a petting zoo… it’s awesome
Peter would be an excellent advisor to the Secretary of State

Zeihan in a nutshell
Got to love the little girl having the time of her life skipping away from the petting zoo and interrupting your video haha thanks you for the constant updates on not just what is happening but the predominant effects! Safe travels
Best line ever: "oh wow, there's a petting zoo down here" and it sounded like he's off to pet some animals!
Airports definitely run smoother when no one is using them.
Am I missing something? (honestly, I might have missed something)
1. Peter talks about what JDAMs are and their history.
2. Peter talks about how the West is providing Ukraine with air defense, so that will allow Ukraine aircraft to fly strike missions unmolested by RUAF aircraft.
?#1: Does Ukraine has JDAM kits? He didn't mentioned that they did.
?#2: How does an upgraded Ukrainian air defense allow Ukrainian AF to fly strike missions? Doesn't Russian air defense still exist? Aren't they still a threat to Ukrainian aircraft in Ukraine and certainly in Russia?
I did miss something. There was a Washington Post article on December 14, 2022 reporting that the US administration was planning on providing Ukraine with JDAMs. However, the problem of Russian air defense remains.
Basically peter ready the Washington post and let's us know what he read. They all exist and this changes nothing, he never provides sources of nor follows up on old comments. Watch stuff from a year ago and you will see its mostly BS. I
@@Rob_F8F JDAM gives you altitude and reach. You can deploy at 40,000 feet, well out of the range of MANPADS, and many miles from target.
@@MrSunrise- What about the Russian S-300 and S-400s?
When an air force has coverage from PATRIOT batteries and S-300 working together with AAA and MANPADS, their fighters can fly under a protective ring of bubbles and deploy JDAMs against whatever targets they like.
The most vulnerable targets include the Kerch Strait Bridge, key C3 nodes in Crimea, Donbas, and Russian Air bases in Crimea and even in Russia.
It also allows for interdiction of invasion routes from Russia and Belorussia, as well as tank-plinking.
"Ooh, petting zoo, gotta go", that's a new one lol 🤪
Gotta love LGA. One of my patients was one of the chief engineers on that LGA modernization.
I get the feeling that this just became Peter's favorite airport in the world
lmao, i love this guy. the way he instantly transitions from talking about jdams to being like "wow they've got a petting zoo, i've got to go. bye!" is just priceless
Sorry, wrong. Even Patriot is only a medium range system, best missile fly out is the PAC 1 at about 40 miles, PAC 3 is about 24 miles. We have nothing like S300 to offer that could extend a sufficient umbrella of overlapping Missile Engagement Zones to facilitate even limited local air superiority and enable limited Close Air Support or interdiction by fast air using JDAM which is still a free fall (albeit guided), not a stand off weapon. Even if the Ukrainians didn’t need every system they can get their hands on for point defence of cities and critical infrastructure, there’s no way we would let the Ukrainians forward deploy systems like Patriot and NASAMS to where they could be destroyed or even captured. We will not be able to provide enough systems to free up legacy Soviet systems like S300 for forward deployment either as we never built that many in the first place, unlike the Soviets, as we knew we could rely on superior air power and thus concentrated on Short Range Air Defence systems.
I hope we get a "Hey there, this is Peter Zeihan coming to you today from the LaGuardia petting zoo, and I think this would be a great back-drop for a conversation about agriculture..."
"You know if you notice this goat, there's not much meat on the bones, cows are really where it's at in terms of efficient conversion"
I can’t believe that’s LaGuardia. 14 years ago I think I got chlamydia when I flew out from there.
Walking through an airport talking about bombs. classic
Just wait until he visits the White House
"There's a petting zoo here, yipeee! See ya; I gotta go."
I too said that to my wife on our Amsterdam vacation.
We more receive high quality world news from Peter Z in a few minutes than in 30 minutes of typical news outlets.
The AFU will also find a way to rocket-boost them to target without the need for aircraft.
"Things to look for... [squirrel]" that's got to be the most ominous conclusion to one of these videos, considering all the talk about further escalations and increasing aid by NATO.
Peter's videos and book "The End of the World is Just the Beginning" have been very eye-opening and I've enjoyed getting the geopolitical perspective on things.
JDAMS are amazing. Remember the laser-guided bombs used in Desert Storm from the F-117, the first stealth aircraft in combat? The bombardier used a laser to guide the bomb accurately.
Those bombs were a million dollars apiece and needed to be guided to the target. JDAMS are a few thousand bucks and they're fire and forget.
You give it the coordinates, drop the bomb, and leave. Even if your aircraft is blown out of the sky, the JDAMS will find its way to the target.
To call this a game changer for Ukraine would be such an understatement. These things are invaluable. They would bring the Ukraine air force up at least 3 tiers overnight.
I still can't believe you actually walked through LaGuardia talking about bombs!!!😆
" Oh god there's a petting zoo! 😍😍
gottagobye! "
😄 lol Peter can't contain himself!😹
That exuberant little girl at the 3:00 mark will never know she starred in a Peter Zeihan analysis of Ukrainian arms capabilities.
Love how he adjusted his poorly fitting mask as she passed. 😂
Hang on, the commitment I was praising Peter for evaporated as soon as a petting zoo came into view for him! 😢
Send Peter an email! We want to hear about the petting zoo!
Commitment, yes, but everyone has _priorities_
Priorities. You can talk about geostrategic stuff any time, any place, but you can't pet a goat at an airport every day.
@@thevoxdeus Oh, yeah… fair point! 🙂
I loved the email alert I received about this video.
JDAM? More like JDAMN...
LOL. Peter, you have such a way with words.
So, the million dollar question is, how will Ukraine launch them, close to the front, in range of Russian S300 systems?
JDAM needs to be dropped at a decent height to get its stated range to glide into the target.
JDAMs can still be delivered by pop up method. Air defense ranges are also overstated. You can enter the range, release weapons, turn back and a missile will not get you. Or dive down and mask yourself with terrain.
Here is Peter walking thru an airport talking about bombs and missiles, etc. What could go wrong?
Use to work as a TSa in Laguardia and yea the airport definitely transform into something else, that's clean and not a dump.
I’m following this guy like the Grateful Dead. I’m a Zeihead!
I'm still waiting for Zeihanstock, where he comes out in a Nehru jacket and love beads, outlining which nations are "way groovy" and which are "on a real bad trip, man".
The sign off on this video cracked me up 😂
Finally! I always called for JDAM to be shipped to Ukraine 🤟
Only if they did it 6 months ago
What a great ending!
Every Zoo is a Petting Zoo if your attitude is right.
irc, Ukraine will also be provided GLSDBs (ground-launched small diameter bombs); basically SBDs strapped to stockpiled MLRS rocket boosters. These have something like ~150 km range, 16 kg explosive warhead, with a 5-8 m accuracy. These could give Ivan all kinds of headaches.
LaGuardia may no longer be a nightmare to fly out of, but ya still gotta deal w the Van Wyck Expressway to get to LaGuardia .. and nobody beats the Van Wyck.
I would guess that the Kerch bridge is high on the list of JDAM targets
TAKE DOWN THE BRIDGE!!
TAKE DOWN THE BRIDGE!!
TAKE DOWN THE BRIDGE!!
TAKE DOWN THE BRIDGE!!
Too far, unfortunately. Ukraine would have to fly through quite severe AA umbrella.
Can the Ukrainians send anything in that direction with enough oomph to cause significant damage? As we saw from the bridge sections over the Kherson dam that Ukraine targeted, HIMARS is very accurate, but doesn't have enough "punch" to destroy major infrastructure, unless you send a LOT of them. I suspect JDAMs will be similar. Ukraine are either going to have to risk more special forces ops (planting lots of explosives or using sea-borne explosives) or use some sort of cruise missile if they want to blow the Kerch bridge again.
@@davidbarry6900 JDAMS are just fins that fit on the tail of any bomb, including big ones.
@@davidbarry6900HIMARS has a 200lb payload, JDAMs exist in the 500, 1000 and 2000lb variety if I'm not mistaken.
The water feature at LGA is fantastic!
To add to a previous comment, as an observer from February: I saw your video on Japan's acquisition of the Tomahawk.
I've wondered from day one if the Russians are firing Kalibr. Why not give Ukraine the same type of system. I guess Tomahawks are seen as too far, too valuable in terms of "we don't want eyes on what they can do."
I think it's an interesting topic for those who don't really understand why cruise missiles are such a big deal.
Personally I think the weapon that would most help Ukrainians would be predator drones. Giving them half our inventory of drones and helfire missiles would inflict mass casualties on the Russians
walking through an airport talking about bombs lol
This expert air operations view should be presented at the US Air War College.
I found a certain beauty in the contrast between Peter talking about these advanced weapons of war and the little girl enthusiastically skipping and shouting in an airport, oblivious to it all. Then I thought about how many girls her age have been killed, maimed, lost family members, and have been traumatized by Russia's aggression against Ukraine, and felt a pang of painful grief. Quite a whirlwind in those few seconds. Good, let's give Ukrainians these JDAMs.
Did I really just see Peter Zeihan say, “Squirrel!” and log off? 😮
Forget the war can we get an update on the petting zoo?
great ending :-)
This under 45 year old clearly remembers those bombs in Iraq. I remember watching the news the they were announcing that troops were being deployed. When I went upstairs to go to bed a lightning bolt struck behind our house. I thought they were sending bombs to us. Obviously, I was young, but I definitely remember seeing the bombs on the news. Wasn't there controversy over the news media basically broadcasting where our troops were through their reporting?
Brave man talking about bombs in an airport
The smartest guy on the Internet, and a five year old at heart
We need an update tomorrow on the petting zoo please
@00:58 channeling Terence Popp
Petting Zoo! Now you know why the little girl was so excited.
Good job holding concentration by the way. : )
Peter, If we get rid of Putin, who comes after him? What are the downside and scenarios of post Putin Russia?
Wow. Had to agreement w/ assessment of old LGA. Haven't been inside new LGA yet.
Peter Zeihan does AirPlane the movie !
You hadn't struck me as the petting zoo type of guy?! lol
Thanks for flying Southwest Airlines Peter. We luv you!!!

Peter talking about bombs in a airport like its nothing lol
Peter Zeihan is the man
Another excellent video!
Looking forward to Ukraine getting JDAMs and also (hopefully) GLSDBs too.
Peter- F-111s and F-117s dropped thousands of laser-guided bombs in Desert Storm. You should look into it. LGBs had a tremendous effect on keeping that conflict short and relatively bloodless since we were able to knock out key comm nodes, airfields, and individual tanks by the thousands. Yes, the preponderance were dumb bombs, but DS was a huge leap from Vietnam, where only a handful of smart weapons were used. JDAM was important for too important reasons: 1) all-weather, and 2) multiple targets simultaneously (LGBs must be guided one by one)
Now I want to visit La Guardia, just for the petting zoo! Merry Christmas, Peter.
You can’t tell us about a petting zoo and not show it, Peter!
Excellent and Outstanding!!!
Wow, that does not look like the La Guardia I have flown into for the past 25 years. Good work NYC! Re: the JDAMs, makes a lot of sense. Heaven knows we've sent stuff far more dangerous to the Ukrainians .
Boeing was planning on selling a rocket for HiMARS that mates an old dumb rocket with a gps guided small diameter bomb, to create a ghetto GMLRS capability. They call it Ground Launched SDB. airpower from the ground.
The girl at 3:00 is killing me. Great vid PZ.
thanks, sir. This one and previous is bringing a bit optimism to me as Ukrainian
JDAMS only work if you can use airplanes over enemy territory. This will be hard
Did you people come here to cry about Pete wearing a mask or to find out what he has to say?
All because their Dear Leader didn’t want to smudge his Cheeto orange foundation. 😂
That increased Ukrainian air capability would make any renewed plans for an armoured push on Kiev from Belarus much more difficult.
Sounds great, but what about Russian S-300s?
I am not convinced that the JDAMs are a game changer. Dropped from high altitude, the range is about 28 kilometers. At this altitude, Ukrainian jets are easy targets for Russian air defense.
Best info during the whole video: "Oh, there is a petting zoo down there." :)
Go Ukraine
Alright, if Peter does one from a toilet at some point I called it.
Good news!!!
🥰Merry Christmas🥰
Travel safe my friend.
Wow .. Laguardia looks good compared to the last time I was there a few years ago! Look actually modern!
Peter breaks off stream because he sees a petting zoo, priceless!
Peter, what about the Russian air defences (some of the best SAM systems in the world) that reach well into Ukrainian territory that will deny Ukraine the ability to fly their aircraft without threat of being shot down?
'Things to look out for... Ooo animals! K bye'

Wow. Bombs to petting zoo. A man of all seasons.
Brave of you to talk about bombs at the airport 😀
Over the weekend I found out that Peter gets a lot of his research from Twitter...
And Twitter got it from the FBI.
Best video exit in the history of UA-cam!
OK...good info aside - you said "bomb" in an airport. LOL
JDAM also has a HIMARS compatible rocket boosted option developed for the Swedes....
Another notable is Poland has a licence to manufacture UK's Brimstone missiles and Ukraine was already in negotiations for Brimstone before the invasion.
Ukraine received a planeload of Brimstone 2 the other day.
