What they’re describing about the interviews is Howard Stern of recent-times. Back in the early to mid 2000s, when he first went to Sirius, his celebrity interviews were awesome. But, like the rest of his show that went in the toilet as well.
Howard Stern was never awesome, never funny, period.. outside that little northeast bubble no one could stand that jerk

@John G I largely agree. I think the way the system responds to the whims of the people is largely through democratic shifts. Here in Canada, we have a bad tendency of “right wingers” attacking their own leaders as not being Conservative enough. Many people get hit with the “Liberal Lite” label, and yet if you look at the history of governance in Canada the Conservative have only had power for 19 years in total since 1935. In those 19 years, we got the Bill of Rights, NAFTA, and the Director of Public Prosecutions Act just to name a few things. In America, Trump did shake up the system but just not enough.
In the Western world, we are plagued by an aristocratic regime of Politicians, Bureaucrats, Academics, and Journalists. These people have destroyed Canada, living behind desks making over six figures, and telling common people what reality is. America still has hope, but Americans also fought for their freedom.
What’s best about the modern era is we’ve seen the people that preach about “being on the right side of history” get exposed as quite the opposite. The cognitive dissonance that this has invoked is irreversible. These people will die denying what they allowed themselves to become.

Howard is ONLY scared of getting sick because if he misses a day of his show, contractually, he has to make it up. That’s unacceptable to him.

As an old Stern fan, they are right about him repeating what the guest say to create the scene of the guest's story. What I think Stern used to do that was great in interviews in the past was celebs I think would let there guard down and say stuff they normally wouldn't say because there was a vibe with all the Stern people in the room like you were talking shit with friends or like the guys in the bar.
Worse he always tries to finish people's sentences. It's annoying.

Howard’s staff do the pre interview and formulate his questions for him even follow-ups, retorts/rebuttals, etc. it’s 100% scripted for him, he is essentially an automaton with a mic atp
It’s exactly the same as the king of all media he just makes things real he wishes them so. He started saying he was a great interviewer because he would actually ask human questions every once in a while. He used to be so amazing the Artie years were great.

Howard USED to be a great interviewer but when he wanted to start kissing ass to get bigger celebs he just turned into a cheerleader and didn't want to ask any hard or tough questions anymore

They are right but wrong... the reason he's a horrible interviewer is he leads the guest then interrupts when CONSTANTLY; and god forbid they disagree with him leading them; he quadruples down on TELLING THEM what he THINKS they "did."
Howard is obsessed with success and money, thats all he cares about thats why his interview style stinks, "who are you screwing, how much money did you get, who do you know whos also famous...." All the questions he ever asks.
I do a podcast as a hobby that averages about 100 downloads an episode. I'm willing to put aside my Midwest modesty for a moment and say *I'm* a better interviewer than Stern.
All he does is ask leading questions and, as Ant points out here, constantly reiterate what was previously said. It's so fucking boring.

Only time i know for sure Stern did a good interview was when that serial killer called in and he kept fishing for information here and there. I don't know if it was real but it sure did sound real.

I agree 100%. I don't know where the concept of Howard being a great interviewer came from. He interrupts 2 seconds after asking a question, repeats what the person just says, and is BORING as hell.
