SA credit ratings decline

Thirty years into democracy and the country's credit rating status has diminished to sub-investment, or what some call junk status, grade.
It's not always been like this, as the country once enjoyed investment grade status.
Meaning that there was a greater appetite for foreign and local investors to invest in the country.
So, what went wrong and how can the country get back to investment grade status.

In the last Local Government Elections less than 50% of the ELECTORATE voted. Yet the IEC declared it Free & Fair.
It certainly was FREE but definitely it was not FAIR.
A democracy is when the 50%+1 ie. the majority decided.
