My Uncle Dan, his son Richard, and I went fishing one overcast and gloomy day. We had decided Dan, and Rich would fish in a different area than I. After about 2 hours of fishing they had caught 9 perch fish, Rich asked how I was doing, I told him the stringer was attached to a fish basket, in the basket were about 40 big perch. He looked at me and said, "You're just the Bill Dance of perch fishermen." I said well you got to fish the conditions, and I do watch him all the time. Thank you Bill, I do this with every breed I fish for, and it works.
I would love to have a good private lake to fish once in a while. Bill used to fish a lot of public lakes on his old shows. I think he fished private lakes because he’s older and he can knock out a show much quicker. He’s old enough he could be retired and probably don’t want to work as much. I enjoy fishing public lakes because it’s more challenging. Once in a while it’s great to fish a private lake and just wack them. In my experience most people who complain about public lakes just don’t have the skill to catch them. I would suggest fishing with different people to see how they catch them. Maybe join a bass club. I would also recommend just looking for a lot of different lakes especially small lakes. Until you find one that suits your strengths.
In his younger days he fished a lot of public lakes in Tennessee. He caught them then too. Pickwick, Dale Hollow , Reelfoot and Barkley to name a few. I remember him fishing a deep clear Tennessee reservoir with a suspending fat free Shad. One of my favorites was on Reelfoot in the winter fishing a bitsy bug jig.
Great episode. Versatility and confidence ARE key to success. Thanks for the great tips, Bill. We love you
spinner bait is the best bait to use, hands down. I like how you're posting full episodes. Brings me back to my younger days watching them on TV.

Would this be a good time to use Fluorocarbon line? Help with the sinking line?
Whoever said that must not have ever taken kids fishing.
Hey bill the hen is the best time to slow roll a spinnerbait and slow rolling a Colorado spinnerbait
It helps when your on a private lake that is full of fish. Wish we all could have a nice lake
Jonathan Watts and sponsors who throw new product at you for free would be nice too.... Can't you just enjoy watching the man do what he loves?
DaddyO's Ink been watching since I was a kid one show or another
Jonathan Watts same here... Bill, Roland, Orlando... I grew up on those guys. Sitting around watching with Dad after church on Sunday. Good times.
I do not need a private lake, and I doubt he does either, we just know very well what we are doing, and unfortunately sometimes that upsets people.

I fish in Northern N.J , why do i catch more Pickerel than Bass ???
Pickerel and Pike hit the same kind of stuff that Bass do, except they're way more aggressive. The important thing is that you're catching fish!
You always here the comment about bills magic lake full of fish cause nobody's listened to the what bill has been teaching everybody for years
