She really is lucky. I live outside of town on small acreage with a lot of open space and forest around. A few years ago, I took my little poodle out for her last walk around 10pm. Off to my left, I heard something in the shrubs about 50 feet away. I figured it was maybe an elk since it didn’t sound like a deer. The next morning when I took my dog out, when I got to our lower yard, there was a huge pile of bear poo. If we had left the house a minute earlier, we would probably have run into the bear.

Unfortunately the mother bear tasted human blood, she was put down and the cubs relocated.

She survived the best attack, remarkable! I can't help but to wonder if the bear was left alone since all she was doing was defending her cubs.

Horrible that people keep taking their habitat. There are so many places to live yet we keep developing and pushing wildlife to nowhere to go. We killed Mama bear for her instinct to protect her cubs.
